Bildad the Shuhite answered and said:
How long will you set snares for words? Understand, and after that we will speak.
Why are we reckoned like livestock, stopped up in your eyes?
O one who tears his own being in his anger, shall the land be forsaken for your sake, and the rock be moved from its place?
Indeed, the light of the wicked is snuffed out, and the flame of his fire will not shine.
The light grows dark in his tent, and his lamp above him is snuffed out.
The steps of his strength are cramped, and his own plans throw him down.
For he is sent into the net by his own feet, and over the network he walks about.
A trap takes hold by the heel; a snare grips him fast.
His rope is hidden in the land, and his trap lies over the path.
Terrors all around frighten him and scatter him at his feet.
Let his strength be hungry, and disaster be ready for his stumbling.
It eats the parts of his skin; the firstborn of death eats his parts.
He is torn away from his tent, his security, and it marches him to the king of terrors.
What is none of his dwells in his tent; sulfur is scattered over his habitation.
Below, his roots dry up, and above, his harvest withers.
His memory perishes from the land, and he has no name over the face of the street.
From light into darkness they thrust him, and from the world they chase him away.
He has no offspring and no progeny among his people, and no survivor where he sojourned.
Over his day those behind are appalled, and those before are gripped by horror.
Surely these are the dwelling places of the unjust, and this is the place of one who has not known God.
