John3

Now there was a man of the Pharisees, Nicodemus by name, a ruler of the Jews.

He came to Him by night and said to Him, "Rabbi, we know that You have come from God as a teacher; for no one is able to do these signs that You do, unless God is with him."

Jesus answered and said to him, "Amen, amen, I say to you, unless someone is born from above, he is not able to see the kingdom of God."

Nicodemus says to Him, "How can a man be born when he is old? Surely he cannot enter into his mother's womb a second time and be born?"

Jesus answered, "Amen, amen, I say to you, unless someone is born of water and of the Spirit, he is not able to enter into the kingdom of God."

That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

Do not wonder that I said to you, 'You all must be born from above.'

The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear its sound, but you do not know from where it comes and where it goes; thus is everyone who is born of the Spirit.

Nicodemus answered and said to Him, "How can these things come to be?"

Jesus answered and said to him, "You yourself are the teacher of Israel, and you do not know these things?"

Amen, amen, I say to you that we speak what we know, and we bear witness to what we have seen, and you people do not receive our witness.

If I have told you the things earthly and you do not trust, how, if I tell you the things heavenly, will you trust?

And no one has gone up into heaven except the One who came down out of heaven, the Son of Man who is in heaven.

And even as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, thus it behooves the Son of Man to be lifted up,

so that everyone who is trusting in Him may not perish, but may have eternal life.

For God loved the world so much that He gave his only Son, so that everyone who is trusting in Him may not perish, but may have eternal life.

For God did not send his Son into the world so that He might judge the world, but so that the world might be saved through Him.

The one who trusts in Him is not judged; but the one not believing has already been judged, because he has not trusted in the name of the only Son of God.

Now this is the judgement, that the Light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the Light; for their deeds were evil.

For everyone practicing evil hates the Light and does not come to the Light, so that his works may not be exposed;

but the one practicing the truth comes to the Light, so that his works may be made manifest, that they have been done in God.

After these things Jesus and his disciples came into the Judean land, and there He was staying with them and was immersing.

Now John also was immersing in Aenon near Salim, because many waters were there; and they were coming and were being immersed.

For John had not yet been thrown into the prison.

So a debate arose among the disciples of John with a certain Jew about purification.

And they came to John and said to him, "Rabbi, He who was with you beyond the Jordan, to whom you yourself have borne witness, behold, He immerses, and all are coming to Him."

John answered and said, "A man is not able to receive even one thing unless it has been given to him from heaven.

You yourselves bear witness to me that I said, 'I myself am not the Anointed One,' but that 'I have been sent before Him.'

The one who has the bride is the bridegroom; now the dear friend of the bridegroom, who stands and listens to him, rejoices greatly because of the voice of the bridegroom. Therefore this joy of mine has been fulfilled.

It is necessary for Him to increase, but for me to decrease.

The One coming from above is above all. The one being from the earth is from the earth and speaks from the earth. The One coming from heaven is above all;

and what He has seen and heard, this He testifies, and no one receives His testimony.

The one who received His testimony has set his seal that God is true.

For He whom God sent speaks the words of God; for not by measure does God give the Spirit.

The Father loves the Son and has given all things into his hand.

The one who trusts in the Son has eternal life; however the one not obeying the Son will not behold life, but the wrath of God abides on him.
