After these things Jesus revealed himself again to the disciples at the sea of Tiberias; now he revealed himself in this way.
They were together: Simon Peter, and Thomas who is named Didymus, and Nathanael the one from Cana of Galilee, and the sons of Zebedee, and two others of his disciples.
Simon Peter says to them: I am going to fish. They say to him: We ourselves also come with you. They went forth and climbed into the boat immediately, and during that very night they caught no thing.
Now when morning had already become, Jesus stood on the shore; but the disciples did not know that it is Jesus.
So Jesus says to them: Children, surely you have not any fish? They answered him: No.
And he said to them: Cast the net to the right side of the boat, and you will find some. So they cast, and they were no longer able to haul it in from the multitude of the fish.
So that disciple whom Jesus was loving says to Peter: It is the Lord. So Simon Peter, when he had heard that it is the Lord, put on the outer garment, for he was naked, and he cast himself into the sea.
And the other disciples came in the boat, for they were not far from the land but about two hundred cubits away, dragging the net with the fish.
So when they got out onto the land, they see a fire of coals lying and fish lying on it and bread.
Jesus says to them: Bring some of the fish that you have caught now.
So Simon Peter went up and drew the net to the land, full of large fish, a hundred fifty-three; and although there are so many, the net was not torn.
Jesus says to them: Come, have breakfast. But none of the disciples was daring to ask him: Who are you yourself? knowing that it is the Lord.
So Jesus comes and takes the bread and gives it to them, and the fish likewise.
This is now the third time Jesus was revealed to his disciples, having been raised out from the dead.
So when they had dined, Jesus says to Simon, to Peter: Simon son of John, do you love me more than these? He says to him: Yes, Lord, you yourself know that I dearly cherish you. He says to him: Feed my lambs.
He says to him again a second time: Simon son of John, do you love me? He says to him: Yes, Lord, you yourself know that I dearly cherish you. He says to him: Shepherd my sheep.
He says to him the third time: Simon son of John, do you dearly cherish me? Peter was grieved because he said to him the third time: Do you dearly cherish me? And he speaks to him: Lord, you yourself know all things, you yourself know that I dearly cherish you. Jesus says to him: Feed my sheep.
Amen I say to you: When you were younger, you were dressing yourself and were walking where you were desiring; but when you may be old, you will stretch forth your hands, and another will dress you and will bring you where you do not desire.
Now this he said, signifying by what death he will glorify God. And when he had said this, he says to him: Follow me.
Now Peter, having turned, sees the disciple whom Jesus was loving following, who also had reclined at the supper on his bosom and said: Lord, who is it who is betraying you?
So Peter, having seen him, says to Jesus: Lord, and what about this man?
Jesus says to him: If I shall desire him to remain until I come, what is it to you? You yourself follow me.
So this saying went out among the brothers, that that disciple does not die; and Jesus did not say to him, however, that he does not die, but: If I shall desire him to remain until I come, what is it to you?
This is the disciple who is bearing witness concerning these things, and the one who had written these things; and we know that his testimony is true.
Now there are also many other things that Jesus did, which, if every one shall be written, I suppose that not even the world itself would have space for the books to be written. Amen
