Judges13

And the children of Israel repeated to make the evil in the eyes of Yahweh, and Yahweh set them in the hand of the Philistines forty years.

There was one man from Zorah, from the family of the Danite, and his name was Manoah; and his wife was barren and did not bear young.

And the messenger of Yahweh appeared the woman and said to it, "you are barren and have not borne young, but you will conceive and bore a son.

And now keep yourself and do not drink wine and strong drink, and do not eat all that is unclean.

For you will be pregnant and bear young son, and a razor will not come up over his head, for the boy will be the Consecrated of God from the womb; and he will begin to save Israel from the hand of the Philistines."

The woman went and said to her husband, "A man of God came to me, and his look was as the look of the messenger of God, exceedingly to be feared; and I did not inquire where he was from, and his name he did not tell to me.

And he said to me, 'you will be pregnant and bear young son; and now do not drink wine and strong drink, and do not eat all uncleanness, for the boy will be the Consecrated of God from the womb to the day of his death.'"

Manoah prayed to Yahweh and said, "Lord, the man of the God which you sent, let him come himself again to us, and let him teach us what we will make to the boy that is born."

And God heard in the sound of Manoah, and the messenger of God came again to the woman, and she dwelled in the field; and Manoah her husband was not with it.

And the woman made haste and ran and told to her husband, and she said to him, "the man appeared to me, which he came in the day to me."

And Manoah rose and went after his woman, and he came to the man and said to him, "Are you the man whom you spoke to the woman?" And he said, "I am."

And Manoah said, "Now, your words, what will be the manner of the boy and his work?"

And the messenger of Yahweh said to Manoah, "From all which I said to the woman she will keep.

From all which will go forth from the vine of the wine she will not eat, and wine and strong drink she will not drink, and all uncleanness she will not eat; all which I commanded it she will keep."

And Manoah said to the messenger of Yahweh, "Let us close you, and we will make to your face the young goat of the she-goats."

And the messenger of Yahweh said to Manoah, "Though you close me, I will not eat in your food; and if you will make a burnt offering, you will bring up it to Yahweh"; for Manoah did not know that he was the messenger of Yahweh.

And Manoah said to the messenger of Yahweh, "Who is your name, that when your word will come, we will honor you?"

And the messenger of Yahweh said to him, "Why is this you will inquire to my name? And it is wonderful."

And Manoah took the young goat of the she-goats and the grain offering and brought up over the rock to Yahweh; and he wondered to make, and Manoah and his wife saw.

And it happened in the come up of the blade from over the altar to the skies, that the messenger of Yahweh came up in the blade of the altar; and Manoah and his wife saw, and they fell on their face to the land.

And Yahweh did not repeat again to the messenger to appear to Manoah and to his wife; then Manoah knew that he was the messenger of Yahweh.

And Manoah said to his wife, "Surely we will die, for we saw God."

And his wife said to him, "If Yahweh had taken delight to put us to death, he would not have taken from our hand a burnt offering and a grain offering, and he would not have shown us all this; and as the time, he did not let us hear as this."

And the woman bore a son and called his name Samson, and the boy became great, and Yahweh blessed it.

And the breath of Yahweh began to deeply it in Mahaneh-dan, between Zorah and between Eshtaol.
