James5

Come now you who are rich, weep wailing over the miseries that are coming upon you.

Your riches have rotted and your garments have become moth-eaten;

Your gold and the silver have corroded, and their rust will be for a testimony against you and will eat your flesh like fire; you have treasured up in the last days.

Behold the wage of the workmen who having harvested your fields, which was kept back by you, cries out, and the cries of those who harvested have entered into the ears of the Lord of Hosts.

You lived in luxury upon the land and lived in self-indulgence; you have fattened your hearts as in the day of slaughter.

You have condemned and have put to death the righteous; he does not resist you.

Therefore be patient, brothers, until the coming of the Lord. Behold the farmer awaits the precious fruit of the land, being patient for it until it receives the early and latter rains;

Be patient also you yourselves, strengthen your hearts, because the coming of the Lord has drawn near.

Do not grumble, brothers, against one another, so that you may not be judged; behold the Judge has been stood before the doors.

As an example of suffering evils and of patience take, my brothers, the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord.

Behold we count blessed those who persevered; you have heard of the perseverance of Job and you have seen the outcome from the Lord, that the Lord is full of compassion and is merciful.

However before all things, my brothers, do not swear, neither swear by the skies nor by the earth nor by any other oath; however let your Yes be yes and your No be no, so that you may not fall under judgment.

Is anyone among you suffering hardships? He should pray; is anyone cheerful? He should sing praises.

Is anyone among you sick? He should call near the elders of the assembly and they should pray over him, having anointed him with oil in the name of the Lord.

And the prayer of trust will rescue the one who ails and the Lord will raise him up; and if he shall be one having committed sins, it will be forgiven to him.

Therefore confess the sins to one another and pray for one another, so that you may be healed; the prayer of a righteous man being made effective prevails much.

Elijah was a man of like nature to us, and with fervent prayer he prayed for it not to rain; and it did not rain upon the land three years and six months;

And again he prayed and the skies gave rain and the earth produced its fruit.

My brothers, if anyone among you shall wander from the truth and someone shall bring him back,

He should know that the one who brought back a sinner from the error of his way will rescue his being from death and will cover over a multitude of sins.
