Isaiah65

I let myself be consulted by those who had not asked; I let myself be found by those who had not sought me. I said, Here I am, here I am, to a nation that was not called by my name.

I spread out my hands all day to a stubborn people, who walk the way that is not good, after their own thoughts.

The people who provoke me to anger to my face continually, sacrificing in gardens and making smoke on bricks.

Those who dwell among the graves and in secret places spend the night, who eat the flesh of the pig, with the broth of foul things in their vessels.

Those who say, Keep close to yourself, do not come near me, for I am set apart from you. These are smoke in my nostril, a fire burning all day.

Behold, it is written before my face: I will not hush, but I will repay; I will repay upon their bosom.

Your guilt and the guilt of your fathers together, says Yahweh, who made smoke on the mountains and taunted me on the hills; I will measure their recompense first into their bosom.

Thus says Yahweh: Just as new wine is found in the cluster and someone says, Do not spoil it, for a blessing is in it, so I will act for the sake of my slaves, so as not to spoil all of them.

I will bring out a seed from Jacob, and from Judah a possessor of my mountains; my chosen ones will take possession of it, and my slaves will dwell there.

Sharon will become a dwelling of the flock, and the valley of Achor a lying-down place of cattle, for my people who have sought me.

But you who forsake Yahweh, who forget my holy mountain, who arrange a table for Fortune and who fill mixed wine for Destiny.

I will appoint you to the sword, and all of you will bow down to the slaughter; because I called, and you did not answer, I spoke, and you did not hear; you did what is evil in my eyes, and you chose what I did not delight in.

Therefore thus says the Adonai Yahweh: Behold, my slaves will eat, but you will be hungry; behold, my slaves will drink, but you will be thirsty; behold, my slaves will rejoice, but you will be ashamed.

Behold, my slaves will give a ringing cry for joy from the goodness of heart, but you will cry out from the pain of heart and will wail from the brokenness of breath.

You will leave your name as a curse to my chosen ones; and the Adonai Yahweh will put you to death, but his slaves he will call by another name.

Whoever blesses himself in the land will bless himself by the God of truth, and whoever swears an oath in the land will swear an oath by the God of truth; for the former troubles are forgotten, and indeed they are hidden from my eyes.

For behold, I am creating new skies and a new land; the former things will not be remembered, and will not come up on the heart.

But rejoice and be glad forever in what I create; for behold, I am creating Jerusalem a gladness, and her people a joy.

I will be glad in Jerusalem, and I will rejoice in my people; and the sound of weeping and the sound of a cry of distress will not be heard in it again.

There will not be from there again an infant of days, or an old man who does not fill his days; for the youth will die at a hundred years old, and the one who sins at a hundred years old will be cursed.

They will build houses and dwell in them; they will plant vineyards and eat their fruit.

They will not build for another to dwell, they will not plant for another to eat; for like the days of a tree will be the days of my people, and my chosen ones will use to the full the work of their hands.

They will not toil for emptiness, nor bear young for sudden terror, for they are the seed of Yahweh's blessed ones, and their descendants are with them.

And it will be that before they call, I will answer; while they are still speaking, I will hear.

Wolf and lamb will graze as one, the lion will eat straw like the ox, and the snake's food is dust. They will not do harm, and they will not ruin, in all my holy mountain, Yahweh said.
