Isaiah63

Who is this coming from Edom, in dazzling garments from Bozrah, this one adorned in his clothing, stooping in the abundance of his strength? It is I, speaking in righteousness, great to save.

Why is your clothing red, and your garments like one who treads in the winepress?

I have trodden the winepress alone, and from the peoples no one was with me. I trod them in my anger and trampled them in my rage; their lifeblood spattered on my garments, and I stained all my clothing.

For the day of vengeance was in my heart, and the year of my redeeming has come.

And I looked, and there was no helper; I was appalled, and there was no sustainer; so my arm saved me, and my rage, it sustained me.

I trampled peoples in my anger and made them drunk in my rage, and I brought their lifeblood down to the land.

I will mention the loyal love of Yahweh, the praises of Yahweh, according to all that Yahweh has dealt out to us, and the great goodness to the house of Israel, which he has dealt out to them according to his compassion and the abundance of his loyal love.

He said, 'Surely they are my people, children who will not deal falsely'; and he became their deliverer.

In all their distress, he too was in distress, and the messenger of his face saved them; in his love and in his mercy he himself redeemed them, and he lifted them up and carried them all the days of forever.

But they rebelled and grieved his holy breath; so he turned himself into an enemy to them, he himself fought against them.

Then he remembered the days of forever, of Moses, of his people: 'Where is the one who brought them up from the sea with the shepherds of his flock? Where is the one who put his holy breath in his midst?'

who made the arm of his splendor go at the right hand of Moses, who split open the waters before them, to make a name for himself forever,

who made them walk through the deeps, like a horse in the wilderness; they did not stumble.

Like livestock that goes down into the valley, the breath of Yahweh gave it rest; so you drove your people, to make for yourself a name of splendor.

Look from the heavens and see from the lofty of your holiness and your splendor; where is your jealousy and your victory? The hordes of your inward and your compassion to me, forced.

For you are our father, though Abraham does not know us and Israel does not acknowledge us; you, Yahweh, are our father; our redeemer from forever is your name.

Why, Yahweh, do you make us wander from your ways and harden our heart away from fearing you? Return, for the sake of your servants, the tribes of your inheritance.

For a little while your holy people possessed it; our enemies have trampled down your sanctuary.

We have been from forever like those you did not rule, those on whom your name was not called.
