Isaiah6

In the year of the death of King Uzziah, I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, high and lifted up, and his skirts filled the temple.

Seraphs were standing above him; six wings, six wings to each one; with two he would cover his face, and with two he would cover his feet, and with two he would fly.

One called to another and said, "Holy, holy, holy is Yahweh of hosts; the whole land is full of his weightiness."

The limits of the thresholds shook at the sound of the one who called, and the house was filled with smoke.

And I said, "Woe is me, for I am ruined! For I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; for my eyes have seen the King, Yahweh of hosts."

And one of the seraphs flew to me, and in his hand was a live coal, which he had taken with tongs from off the altar.

He made it touch my mouth and said, "Look, this has touched your lips; your guilt is removed, and your sin is covered over."

I heard the sound of the Lord saying, "Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?" And I said, "Here I am; send me."

He said, "Go, and say to this people: Hear continually, and do not understand; see continually, and do not know."

Make fat the heart of this people, and make its ears heavy, and make its eyes stare, lest it see with its eyes and hear with its ears, and its heart understand, and it turn back and there be healing for it.

And I said, "How long, O Lord?" And he said, "Until cities have crashed into ruins without anyone dwelling, and houses without a man, and the ground is devastated into a desolation."

And Yahweh will send mankind far away, and the forsakenness will multiply in the midst of the land.

And still a tenth will be in it, and it will return and be burned, like the terebinth and like the oak, which at their felling have a stump in them: a holy seed is its stump.
