Look, the hand of Yahweh is not too short to save, and his ear is not too heavy to hear.
Rather, your iniquities have been separating between you and your God, and your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he does not hear.
For your palms are defiled with blood, and your fingers with guilt; your lips speak falsehood, your tongue murmurs injustice.
No one calls out in righteousness, and no one pleads a case in steadiness; they trust in emptiness and speak vanity, conceive trouble and bring forth wickedness.
They break open the eggs of a viper and weave the webs of a spider; the one who eats from their eggs will die, and what is crushed bursts open into a viper.
Their webs will not become clothing, and they will not cover themselves with their works; their works are works of wickedness, and the deed of violence is in their palms.
Their feet run to evil, and they hurry to shed innocent blood; their thoughts are thoughts of wickedness; devastation and crushing are on their highways.
They do not know the way of wholeness, and there is no justice in their tracks; their paths they have made crooked for themselves; everyone who treads in them does not know wholeness.
Therefore justice is far from us, and righteousness does not overtake us; we wait eagerly for light, and look, darkness; for brightness, in gloom we walk.
We grope like the blind along the wall, and like those without eyes we grope; we stumble at noon as in twilight, among the lusty we are like the dead.
We growl like bears, all of us, and like doves we moan and moan; we wait eagerly for justice, and there is none; for deliverance, it is far from us.
For our transgressions are many before you, and our sins testify against us; for our transgressions are with us, and our guilt, we know it.
transgressing and denying Yahweh, turning back from following our God, speaking oppression and defection, conceiving and uttering from the heart words of falsehood.
Justice is driven back backward, and righteousness stands far off; for stability has stumbled in the open square, and straightness cannot enter.
Stability was lacking, and whoever turned aside from evil was plundered. Yahweh saw, and it was displeasing in his eyes that there was no justice.
He saw that there was no man, and was appalled that there was no one to interpose; so his own arm gave victory to him, and his own righteousness itself held him up.
He put on righteousness like body armor, and a helmet of deliverance on his head; he put on garments of vengeance as clothing, and wrapped himself in zeal like a robe.
According to their dealings, so he will repay: rage to his opponents, recompense to his enemies; to the coastlands he will repay recompense.
And they will fear the name of Yahweh from the setting place, and his weightiness from the rising of the sun; for he will come like a river squeezed narrow, while the wind of Yahweh drives it on.
A redeemer will come to Zion, and to those who turn back from transgression in Jacob, says Yahweh.
And as for me, this is my covenant with them, says Yahweh: my breath that is upon you, and my words that I have put in your mouth will not depart from your mouth, and from the mouth of your seed, and from the mouth of the seed of your seed, says Yahweh, from now until forever.
