Isaiah52

Awake, awake, clothe yourself with your strength, O Zion; clothe yourself with the garments of your splendor, O Jerusalem, the city of holiness; for the uncircumcised and the unclean will never again come into you.

Shake yourself free of the dust, rise, sit, O Jerusalem; loosen the fetters of your neck, O captive daughter of Zion.

For thus says Yahweh: You were sold for nothing, and not with silver will you be redeemed.

For thus says the Adonai Yahweh: My people went down to Egypt at first to sojourn there, and Assyria oppressed them for nothing.

And now, what do I have here, the utterance of Yahweh, that my people has been taken for nothing? Its rulers wail, the utterance of Yahweh, and continually all day my name is scorned.

Therefore my people will know my name; therefore on that day they will know that I am he who speaks: here I am.

How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of one who bears news, who proclaims wholeness, who bears news of good, who proclaims deliverance, who says to Zion, Your God has become king.

The voice of your watchmen! They lift up a voice, together they shout for joy; for eye to eye they will see at the return of Yahweh to Zion.

Break out, shout for joy together, you ruins of Jerusalem; for Yahweh has comforted his people, he has redeemed Jerusalem.

Yahweh has bared his holy arm before the eyes of all the nations, and all the ends of the land will see the deliverance of our God.

Depart, depart, go out from there, do not touch anything unclean; go out from her midst, purify yourselves, you who carry the vessels of Yahweh.

For not in haste will you go out, and not in flight will you go; for Yahweh is going before you, and the God of Israel is your rearguard.

Behold, my slave will act wisely; he will be high, and lifted up, and exalted exceedingly.

Just as many were appalled at you, so disfigured, beyond any man, was his look, and his form beyond the children of humankind.

So he will sprinkle many nations; because of him kings will shut their mouths; for what had not been recounted to them they have seen, and what they had not heard they have understood.
