Isaiah31

Alas for those who go down to Egypt for help, and lean on horses, who trust in chariots because they are many, and in horsemen because they are very mighty, but do not look to the holy one of Israel, and do not seek Yahweh.

Yet he also is wise, and he brings disaster, and he does not remove his words; he will rise against the house of those who do evil, and against the help of those who do iniquity.

Egypt is man and not God, and their horses are flesh and not breath; Yahweh will stretch out his hand, and the one who helps will stumble, and the one who is helped will fall, and together they will all come to an end.

For thus Yahweh said to me: As the lion, the young lion, growls over its prey, against which a mass of shepherds is summoned — from their sound it is not dismayed, and from their tumult it does not bow down — so Yahweh of hosts will come down to wage war upon the mountain of Zion, and upon her hill.

Like little birds hovering, so Yahweh of hosts will shield Jerusalem; shielding, he will rescue it; passing over, he will deliver it.

Return to the one against whom the children of Israel have deepened their rebellion.

For on that day each man will reject his worthless idols of silver and his worthless idols of gold, which your hands made for you as sin.

And Assyria will fall by a sword not of a man, and a sword not of a human will devour him; and he will flee from the face of a sword, and his young men will become forced labor.

And his crag will pass away from terror, and his officials will be dismayed at the banner — the utterance of Yahweh, whose light is in Zion, and whose fire-pot is in Jerusalem.
