For look, the lord Yahweh of hosts is about to remove from Jerusalem and from Judah support and staff, every support of bread and every support of water,
the mighty man and the man of war, the judge and the prophet and the diviner and the elder,
the captain of fifty and the one lifted of face, the counselor, the one wise in magic arts and the one who understands whispered charms.
And I will set boys as their officials, and the capricious will rule over them.
And the people will oppress one another, man against man and each against his neighbor; the boy will act insolently against the old man, and the lightly esteemed against the honored.
If a man seizes his brother in the house of his father: "You have a cloak; you will be our commander, and let this ruin be under your hand."
In that day, he will lift up his voice, saying, I will not be a binder-up of wounds, for in my house there is no food and no garment; you must not appoint me commander of the people.
For Jerusalem has stumbled and Judah has fallen, for their tongue and their deeds are against Yahweh, to rebel against the eyes of his weightiness.
The look of their faces has testified against them, and they have declared their sin like Sodom; they have not hidden it. Woe to their being, for they have done evil to themselves.
Say of the righteous that it is good, for they will eat the fruit of their deeds.
Woe to the wicked! It will go badly, for the dealing of his hands will be done to him.
My people, its oppressors deal severely, and women rule over it. My people, your guides make you wander about, and they swallow down the way of your paths.
Yahweh has taken his stand to contend, and stands to judge the peoples.
Yahweh will come in justice with the elders of his people and his officials: you yourselves have consumed the vineyard; the plunder of the poor is in your houses.
What is it to you that you crush my people and grind the faces of the poor? — the utterance of the Adonai Yahweh of hosts.
And Yahweh said, Because the daughters of Zion are haughty, and they walk with outstretched neck and ogling eyes, walking and mincing as they go, and with their feet they make their anklets tinkle,
And the Lord will scrape the crown of the daughters of Zion, and Yahweh will lay bare their secret parts.
In that day the Lord will remove the splendor of the anklets and the headbands and the crescents,
the pendants and the bracelets and the veils,
the head-dresses and the ankle chains and the sashes and the houses of the being and the charms,
the signet-rings and the rings of the nostril,
the robes and the over-tunics and the cloaks and the bags,
and the mirrors and the linen wrappers and the turbans and the wide wrappers.
And it will be that in place of spice there will be rottenness, and in place of a belt, a rope, and in place of the work of curls, baldness, and in place of a rich robe, a girding of sackcloth, branding in place of beauty.
Your men will fall by the sword, and your might in battle.
Her doors will wail and mourn, and emptied she will sit on the land.
