On that day Yahweh will visit with his sword, the harsh and the great and the strong, upon Leviathan the fleeing snake and upon Leviathan the twisting snake; and he will slay the sea monster that is in the sea.
On that day: a vineyard of delight, sing of it!
I, Yahweh, am its keeper; I water it by the moment; lest anyone visit punishment upon it, night and day I guard it.
I have no rage. Who would set me thorns and briers in battle? I would stride against them, I would burn them all together.
Or let him take hold of my stronghold; let him make wholeness for me, wholeness let him make for me.
In the coming days Jacob will take root; Israel will blossom and bud, and they will fill the face of the world with fruit.
As the blow of the one who struck it, has he struck it? Or as the slaughter of his slain ones, has it been slain?
In measure, by sending her away, you contend with her; he removed her with his harsh wind on the day of the east wind.
Therefore by this Jacob's guilt will be covered, and this is all the fruit of removing his sin: when he makes all the stones of the altar like shattered chalk stones, the Asherah poles and sun-pillars will not stand.
For a fortified city is alone, a habitation sent away and forsaken like the wilderness; there a calf will graze, and there it will lie down and finish off its branches.
When its harvest is dry, it is broken in pieces; women come and light it up. For it is not a people of understanding; therefore the one who made it will not have compassion on it, and the one who formed it will not show favor to it.
It will be in that day: Yahweh will beat out from the flowing stream of the River to the wadi of Egypt, and you will be gathered one by one, O children of Israel.
It will be in that day: a great horn will be blown, and those who perish in the land of Assyria will come, and those banished in the land of Egypt, and they will bow down to Yahweh on the holy mountain in Jerusalem.
