Isaiah25

Yahweh, you are my God; I will lift you high, I will give thanks to your name; for you have done a wonder, counsels from afar, in steadiness and faithfulness.

For you have turned a city into a heap, a fortified town into a ruin; the citadel of foreigners is no city, and it will not be built forever.

Therefore a fierce people will honor you; the city of ruthless nations will fear you.

For you have been a stronghold for the poor, a stronghold for the needy in his tight place, a refuge from the rainstorm, a shadow from the heat; for the wind of the ruthless is like a rainstorm against a wall.

Like heat in a parched land you subdue the uproar of foreigners; like heat in the shadow of a cloud, the song of the ruthless is brought low.

Yahweh of hosts will make for all the peoples on this mountain a feast of fat oils, a feast of dregs: fat oils rubbed smooth, dregs strained clear.

And on this mountain he will swallow up the face of the covering that wraps over all the peoples, and the coverlet that is spread over all the nations.

He will swallow up death forever; and the Adonai Yahweh will wipe away tears from every face, and the reproach of his people he will remove from all the land; for Yahweh has spoken.

And one will say on that day, Behold, this is our God; we waited for him, and he saved us. This is Yahweh; we waited for him; let us rejoice and be glad in his deliverance.

For the hand of Yahweh will rest on this mountain, and Moab will be trampled down beneath it, as straw is trampled in a dung-pit.

And he will spread out his hands in his midst, as the swimmer spreads them out to swim; and he will bring low his pride with the cunning of his hands.

And the fortification of the high stronghold of your walls he lays low, he brings down, he makes it touch the land, down to the dust.
