Isaiah23

The oracle of Tyre. Wail, ships of Tarshish, for it is devastated, with no house to come into; from the land of Cyprus it has been uncovered to them.

Be silent, dwellers of the coastland; the traders of Sidon, crossing the sea, have filled you.

And on many waters the seed of Shihor, the harvest of the River, was her revenue; and she became the profit of the nations.

Be ashamed, Sidon, for the sea has spoken, the stronghold of the sea, saying: "I have not writhed in labor, and I have not given birth, and I have not made young men great, nor raised virgins."

When the news comes to Egypt, they will writhe, as at the news of Tyre.

Pass over to Tarshish; wail, dwellers of the coastland.

Is this your jubilant one, whose beginning is from days of antiquity, whose feet carry her from far off to sojourn?

Who advised this against Tyre, the one who bestows crowns, whose traders were officials, whose merchants were the honored of the land?

Yahweh of hosts advised it, to profane the pride of all splendor, to treat with contempt all the honored of the land.

Pass over your land like the River, O daughter of Tarshish; there is no harbor any more.

His hand has stretched out over the sea; he has made kingdoms tremble; Yahweh has commanded concerning Canaan to destroy its strongholds.

And he said, You will not ever again exult, O oppressed virgin, daughter of Sidon. Rise, pass over to Cyprus; even there you will have no rest.

Look, the land of the Chaldeans: this people that was not! Assyria founded it for desert-dwellers; they raised up its siege-towers, they stripped bare its palaces; he made it a ruin.

Wail, ships of Tarshish, for your stronghold is devastated.

And it will be in that day that Tyre will be forgotten seventy years, like the days of one king. At the end of seventy years it will happen to Tyre as in the song of the prostitute:

Take a lyre, go around the city, O forgotten prostitute; play well, multiply the song, so that you may be remembered.

And it will be at the end of seventy years that Yahweh will visit Tyre, and she will return to her earnings, and she will prostitute herself with all the kingdoms of the land on the face of the ground.

And her profit and her earnings will be a holy thing for Yahweh; it will not be stored up, and it will not be hoarded; for to those who dwell before Yahweh her profit will belong, to eat their fill, and for a fine covering.
