Hosea7

As I heal Israel, the guilt of Ephraim is uncovered, and the evils of Samaria; for they practice falsehood, and the thief comes in, a marauding band raids in the street.

And they do not say to their heart that I remember all their evil. Now their deeds have surrounded them; they are before my face.

With their evil they make the king glad, and the officials with their lies.

All of them are adulterers, like a fire-pot burning from the baker, who stops stirring up, from the kneading of the dough until it is leavened.

On the day of our king the officials became sick from the fever of wine; he drew his hand with the mockers.

For in their scheming they bring near their heart like a fire-pot; all the night their baker sleeps; in the morning it burns like a fire of flame.

All of them are hot like a fire-pot, and they devour their rulers; all their kings have fallen; there is none among them who calls to me.

Ephraim mixes himself among the peoples; Ephraim has become a cake not turned over.

Foreigners have eaten his strength, and he does not know; also gray hair is sprinkled on him, and he does not know.

And the pride of Israel testifies to his face; yet they have not returned to Yahweh their God, nor sought him through all this.

And Ephraim became like a dove, easily enticed, with no heart; they called to Egypt, they went to Assyria.

As they go, I will spread my net over them; like a bird of the skies I will bring them down; I will discipline them according to the report to their assembly.

Woe to them, for they fled from me! Devastation to them, for they rebelled against me! I would ransom them, but they spoke lies against me.

They did not cry out to me with their heart, but they wail upon their beds; over grain and new wine they drag themselves about; they turn aside from me.

And I disciplined, I strengthened their arms, yet against me they devise evil.

They return, but not to the High; they have become like a deceitful bow; their officials will fall by the sword for the indignation of their tongue; this is their mockery in the land of Egypt.
