Hosea12

Ephraim shepherds the wind and chases the east wind all day; he multiplies lies and destruction; they cut a covenant with Assyria, and oil is carried to Egypt.

Yahweh has a dispute with Judah, and will visit Jacob with judgment according to his ways; according to his deeds he will repay him.

In the womb he seized his brother by the heel, and in his strength he struggled with God.

He struggled against a messenger and prevailed; he wept and sought favor from him. At Bethel he found him, and there he spoke with us.

And Yahweh, God of hosts: Yahweh is his memorial.

And you will return to your God; keep loyal love and justice, and wait for your God continually.

Canaan! In his hand are scales of deceit; he loved to oppress.

And Ephraim said, “Surely I have become rich; I have found wealth for myself. In all my toil they will not find in me any guilt that is sin.”

And I am Yahweh your God from the land of Egypt; again I will make you dwell in tents, as in the days of the appointed time.

And I spoke to the prophets, and I multiplied vision, and by the hand of the prophets I devised likenesses.

If Gilead is iniquity, surely they have been worthless; in Gilgal they sacrificed oxen; also their altars are like heaps of stones on the furrows of the field.

And Jacob fled to the field of Aram; Israel served for a wife, and for a wife he kept sheep.

And by a prophet Yahweh brought Israel up from Egypt, and by a prophet he was kept.

Ephraim has provoked to anger bitterly; his bloodshed he will leave upon him, and his lord will return his reproach to him.
