Hebrews8

Now the sum of the things being spoken of is that we have such a high priest, who sat down at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens,

a minister in the Holy Places and in the true tabernacle, which the Lord has pitched, and not man.

For every high priest is appointed in order to offer gifts both and sacrifices; wherefore it was necessary to have something also for this One that he may offer.

Then if certainly he were on land, he would not even then be a priest, while there are the priests, those offering the gifts according to the law,

who minister to a copy and shadow of the heavenly, even as Moses, being about to complete the tabernacle, has been divinely instructed; for "see," he says, "you will make all things according to the pattern which having been shown you in the mountain";

however now he has obtained a more excellent ministry, inasmuch as also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which has been enacted upon better promises.

For if that first one were faultless, a place would not then be sought for a second.

For finding fault he says with them: "Behold, the days are coming, says the Lord, and I will ratify a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah,

not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day of my having taken hold of their hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt, because they themselves did not continue in my covenant, and I myself disregarded them, says the Lord.

For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord, putting my laws into their mind and upon their hearts I will inscribe them; and I will be to them for God, and they themselves will be to me for a people.

And certainly they shall not teach each his comrade and each his brother, saying, 'know the Lord,' because all will know me, from their least to their greatest;

because I will be merciful toward their iniquities, and their sins and their lawless acts I certainly will not remember more."

In the saying "new," he has made the first obsolete; and that growing old and aging is near vanishing.
