Genesis4

And the man knew Eve his wife, and she conceived and bore Cain, and said, I have acquired a man with Yahweh.

And again she bore his brother Abel. And Abel was a herder of the flock, and Cain was a tiller of the ground.

And it came about, at the end of some days, that Cain brought some of the fruit of the ground as a grain offering to Yahweh.

And Abel, he also brought some of the firstborn of his flock and of their fat. And Yahweh looked with favor on Abel and on his grain offering.

And on Cain and on his grain offering he did not look with favor. And Cain burned with anger, exceedingly, and his face fell.

And Yahweh said to Cain, Why are you burning with anger, and why has your face fallen?

Will there not be exaltation if you do well? And if you do not do well, sin crouches at the door; its longing is toward you, and you can rule over it.

And Cain said to Abel his brother, Let us go into the field. And it came about when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother and killed him.

And Yahweh said to Cain, Where is Abel your brother? And he said, I do not know. Am I the keeper of my brother?

And he said, What have you done? The sound of the blood of your brother is crying out to me from the ground.

And now you are cursed from the ground, which has opened its mouth to take the blood of your brother from your hand.

When you till the ground, it will not again give you its strength; a wanderer and a fugitive you will be in the land.

And Cain said to Yahweh, My guilt is too great to bear.

Look, today you have driven me out from the face of the ground, and from your face I will be hidden. I will be a wanderer and a fugitive in the land, and it will be that everyone who finds me will kill me.

And Yahweh said to him, Therefore anyone who kills Cain, sevenfold it will be avenged. And Yahweh set a sign for Cain, so that no one who found him would strike him.

And Cain went out from the face of Yahweh, and dwelled in the land of Nod, east of Eden.

And Cain knew his wife, and she conceived and bore Enoch. And he was building a city, and he called the name of the city after the name of his son Enoch.

And to Enoch was born Irad. And Irad fathered Mehujael, and Mehujael fathered Methushael, and Methushael fathered Lamech.

And Lamech took for himself two wives: the name of the first was Adah, and the name of the second was Zillah.

And Adah bore Jabal. He was the father of those who dwell in tents with livestock.

And the name of his brother was Jubal. He was the father of all who wield the lyre and the pipe.

And Zillah also bore Tubal-Cain, who hammered and worked every kind of bronze and iron. And the sister of Tubal-Cain was Naamah.

And Lamech said to his women Adah and Zillah, Hear my sound, the women of Lamech, give ear to my word: a man I killed to my wound, and a youth to my bruise.

For Cain will be avenged sevenfold, and Lamech seventy and seven.

And Adam knew his wife again, and she bore a son and she called his name Seth, for God has set for me another seed in place of Abel, for Cain killed him.

And to Seth, to him also, a son was born, and he called his name Enosh. Then people began to call on the name of Yahweh.
