Genesis14

And it happened in the days of Amraphel the king of Shinar, Arioch the king of Ellasar, Kedorlaomer the king of Elam, and Tidal the king of Goyim,

they made war on Bera the king of Sodom, and on Birsha the king of Gomorrah, Shinab the king of Admah, and Shemeber the king of Zeboiim, and the king of Bela, that is Zoar.

All these joined together at the valley of Siddim, that is the Salt Sea.

Twelve years they served Kedorlaomer, and in the thirteenth year they rebelled.

And in the fourteenth year Kedorlaomer came, and the kings who were with him, and they struck the Rephaim in Ashteroth-karnaim, and the Zuzites in Ham, and the Emites in Shaveh-kiriathaim,

and the Horites in their hill country, Seir, as far as El-paran, which is by the wilderness.

And they turned back and came to En-mishpat, that is Kadesh, and they struck all the field of the Amalekite, and also the Amorite who dwelled in Hazezon-tamar.

The king of Sodom went out, and the king of Gomorrah, and the king of Admah, and the king of Zeboiim, and the king of Bela (that is, Zoar), and they drew up for battle against them in the vale of Siddim.

against Kedorlaomer the king of Elam, Tidal the king of Goyim, Amraphel the king of Shinar, and Arioch the king of Ellasar: four kings against the five.

Now the vale of Siddim was pits upon pits of tar; and the king of Sodom and Gomorrah fled and fell there, and those who were left fled to the hill country.

They took all the property of Sodom and Gomorrah and all their food, and they went away.

They took Lot, the son of Abram's brother, and his property, and they went; and he was dwelling in Sodom.

And the fugitive came and told Abram the Hebrew, who was dwelling by the terebinth trees of Mamre the Amorite, brother of Eshcol and brother of Aner; and they were men of the covenant of Abram.

Abram heard that his brother had been taken captive, and he mustered his trained men, those born in his house, three hundred and eighteen, and ran after them as far as Dan.

He divided up against them by night, he and his servants, and struck them, and ran after them as far as Hobah, which lies to the left of Damascus.

He brought back all the property; he also brought back Lot his brother and his property, and also the women and the people.

The king of Sodom went out to meet him at the vale of Shaveh, that is, the king's vale, after he returned from striking Kedorlaomer and the kings who were with him.

Malki-Tsedek, king of Salem, brought out bread and wine; he was a priest of God Most High.

He blessed him and said, Blessed be Abram by God Most High, who acquired skies and land.

And blessed be God Most High, who has delivered your opponents into your hand. And he gave him a tenth of everything.

The king of Sodom said to Abram, Give me the living beings, and take the property for yourself.

Abram said to the king of Sodom, I have raised my hand to Yahweh, God Most High, who acquired skies and land,

I will not take so much as a thread or even a sandal strap, and I will not take anything that is yours, so that you will not say: I enriched Abram.

Nothing for me, except what the boys have eaten, and the share of the men who went with me: Aner, Eshcol, and Mamre; let them take their share.
