¹These are the accounts of the sons of Noah: Shem, Ham, and Japheth; and sons were born to them after the flood.

²The sons of Japheth: Gomer, Magog, Madai, Javan, Tubal, Meshech, and Tiras.

³And the children of Gomer: Ashkenaz and Riphath and Togarmah.

⁴And the children of Javan: Elishah and Tarshish, Kittim and Dodanim.

⁵From these the coastlands of the nations were parted in their lands, each by his own language, by their clans, in their nations.

⁶And the children of Ham: Cush and Egypt and Put and Canaan.

⁷And the children of Cush: Seba and Havilah and Sabtah and Raamah and Sabteca; and the children of Raamah: Sheba and Dedan.

⁸And Cush fathered Nimrod; he began to be a mighty man in the land.

⁹He was a mighty hunter before the face of Yahweh; therefore it is said, "Like Nimrod, a mighty hunter before the face of Yahweh."

¹⁰The beginning of his kingdom was Babel and Erech and Akkad and Calneh, in the land of Shinar.

¹¹From that land he went out to Assyria, and he built Nineveh and Rehoboth-Ir and Calah.

¹²And Resen, between Nineveh and between Calah; that is the great city.

¹³And Egypt fathered the Ludites and the Anamites and the Lehabites and the Naphtuhites.

¹⁴And the Pathrusites and the Casluhites, from whom the Philistines came out, and the Caphtorites.

¹⁵And Canaan fathered Sidon his firstborn, and Heth.

¹⁶And the Jebusites and the Amorites and the Girgashites.

¹⁷And the Hivites and the Arkites and the Sinites.

¹⁸And the Arvadites and the Zemarites and the Hamathites; and afterward the clans of the Canaanites were scattered.

¹⁹The border of the Canaanites was from Sidon, as you go toward Gerar as far as Gaza, as you go toward Sodom and Gomorrah and Admah and Zeboiim, as far as Lasha.

²⁰These are the children of Ham, by their clans, by their languages, in their lands, in their nations.

²¹And to Shem also, he the father of all the children of Eber, the elder brother of Japheth, children were born.

²²The children of Shem: Elam and Asshur and Arphaxad and Lud and Aram.

²³And the children of Aram: Uz and Hul and Gether and Mash.

²⁴And Arphaxad fathered Shelah, and Shelah fathered Eber.

²⁵And to Eber two sons were born: the name of the one was Peleg, for in his days the land was divided; and the name of his brother was Joktan.

²⁶And Joktan fathered Almodad and Sheleph and Hazarmaveth and Jerah.

²⁷And Hadoram and Uzal and Diklah.

²⁸And Obal and Abimael and Sheba.

²⁹And Ophir and Havilah and Jobab; all these were the children of Joktan.

³⁰Their territory was from Mesha, as you go toward Sephar, the hill country of the east.

³¹These are the children of Shem, by their clans, by their languages, in their lands, by their nations.

³²These are the clans of the children of Noah, by their accounts, in their nations; and from these the nations were parted in the land after the flood.
