Genesis1

In the beginning God created the skies and the land.

And the land was formless and empty, with darkness over the face of the deep, and the breath of God was hovering over the face of the waters.

God said, "Let there be light," and there was light.

God saw the light, that it was good, and God separated between the light and the darkness.

God called the light "day," and the darkness he called "night." There was evening and there was morning, day one.

God said, "Let there be an expanse in the middle of the waters, and let it separate between waters and waters."

God made the expanse and separated between the waters that were under the expanse and the waters that were above the expanse; and it was so.

God called the expanse "skies." There was evening and there was morning, a second day.

God said, "Let the waters under the skies gather to one place, and let the dry ground appear," and it was so.

God called the dry ground "land," and the gathering of the waters he called "seas." God saw that it was good.

God said, "Let the land sprout vegetation, plants bearing seed, fruit trees producing fruit according to their kind, which has its seed in it, on the land," and it was so.

The land brought out vegetation, plants bearing seed according to their kind, and trees producing fruit which has its seed in it, according to their kind. God saw that it was good.

There was evening and there was morning, a third day.

God said, "Let there be lights in the expanse of the skies to separate between the day and the night, and let them be for signs and for appointed times and for days and years."

"Let them be lights in the expanse of the skies to shine on the land," and it was so.

God made the two great lights: the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night, and the stars.

God set them in the expanse of the skies to shine on the land,

and to rule over the day and the night, and to separate between the light and the darkness. God saw that it was good.

There was evening, there was morning, a fourth day.

God said, "Let the waters swarm with a swarm of living beings, and let birds fly over the land across the face of the expanse of the skies."

God created the great sea monsters and every living being that creeps, with which the waters swarmed, by their kind, and every winged bird by its kind. God saw that it was good.

God blessed them, saying, "Be fruitful and multiply and fill the waters in the seas, and let the birds multiply on the land."

There was evening, there was morning, a fifth day.

God said, "Let the land bring forth living beings, each by its kind: livestock, reptiles, and the animals of the land, each by its kind," and it was so.

God made the animals of the land by its kind, and the livestock by its kind, and every creeping thing of the ground by its kind. God saw that it was good.

God said, "Let us make mankind in our image, according to our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea, the birds of the skies, the animals, all the land, and every creeping thing that creeps on the land."

God created mankind in his own image; in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.

God blessed them, and God said to them, "Be fruitful and multiply and fill the land and subdue it, and rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the skies and over every living thing that creeps on the land."

God said, "Look, I have given you every plant bearing seed that is on the face of all the land, and every tree that has in it the fruit of a tree bearing seed. It will be yours for food."

And to every animal of the land, and to every bird of the skies, and to everything that creeps on the land, in which there is a living being, I give every green plant for food," and it was so.

God saw everything that he had made, and behold, it was very good. There was evening, there was morning, the sixth day.
