Galatians2

Then after fourteen years I again went up to Jerusalem with Barnabas, having taken Titus with me also;

now I went up according to a revelation, and set before them the good news that I proclaim among the nations — privately, however, to those esteemed — lest perhaps I may be running, or have run, in vain.

But not even Titus, who was with me, being a Greek, was compelled to be circumcised;

and that because of the false brothers secretly brought in, who came in by stealth to spy out our freedom which we have in the Anointed One Jesus, that they will enslave us,

to whom not even for an hour did we yield in subjection, so that the truth of the good news may continue with you.

Now of those esteemed to be something — whatever they formerly were makes no difference to me; God does not take account of the face of a man — for to me the esteemed added no thing,

but on the contrary, when they had seen that I have been entrusted with the good news of the uncircumcision, even as Peter with that of the circumcision —

for the One having worked in Peter for the apostleship of the circumcision worked also in me toward the nations —

and having known the favor given to me, James and Cephas and John, those esteemed to be pillars, gave to me and to Barnabas the right hands of fellowship, that we ourselves should go indeed to the nations, however they to the circumcision,

only they asked that we may remember the poor, the same thing which I also was eager to do.

When, however, Peter came to Antioch, I opposed him to his face, because he was standing condemned.

For before certain ones came from James he was eating with the nations; when, however, they came, he was drawing back and separating himself, being afraid of those of the circumcision;

and the rest of the Jews also acted hypocritically with him, so that even Barnabas was carried away by their hypocrisy.

But when I saw that they are not walking uprightly according to the truth of the good news, I said to Peter before all: If you yourself, being a Jew, live like a Gentile and not like a Jew, why do you compel the nations to Judaize?

We ourselves are by birth Jews, and not sinners of the nations;

then, knowing that a man is not justified by works of law except through the faithfulness of Jesus the Anointed One, even we ourselves believed in the Anointed One Jesus, that we may be justified by the faithfulness of the Anointed One and not by works of the Law; since by works of the Law no flesh will be justified.

However, if, seeking to be justified in the Anointed One, we ourselves also have been found sinners, is the Anointed One then a minister of sin? Never would it be!

For if these things that I had torn down I again build, I prove myself a transgressor;

for I myself through the Law died to the Law, that I may live to God. To the Anointed One I have been crucified with;

now I myself live no longer, however the Anointed One lives in me; and that which I now live in the flesh, I live by the trust of the Son of God and Anointed One, the One who loved me and gave Himself up for me.

I do not set aside the favor of God; for if righteousness is through the Law, then the Anointed One died for naught.
