Ezekiel9

And he called out in my ears with a great sound, saying, Bring near the punishments of the city, each man with his destroying weapon in his hand.

And look, six men were coming from the direction of the upper gate, which faces north, each man with his weapon of slaughter in his hand, and one man among them clothed in linen, with the scribe's inkhorn at his loins; and they came in and stood beside the bronze altar.

And the weightiness of the God of Israel went up from upon the cherub that it had been on, to the threshold of the house; and he called to the man clothed in linen, who had the scribe's inkhorn at his loins.

And Yahweh said to him, Pass through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and scratch a mark on the foreheads of the men who sigh and groan over all the abominations done in the midst of it.

And to these he said in my ears, Pass through the city after him and strike; let your eye not look with pity, and do not spare.

Old man, young man, and virgin, and children, and women, you shall kill, to destroy; but do not draw near anyone on whom is the mark. And begin from my sanctuary. So they began with the old men who were before the house.

And he said to them, Defile the house and fill the courts with the slain. Go out! And they went out and struck in the city.

And it happened, as they were striking, that I was left, and I fell on my face and cried out, and said, Alas, O Adonai Yahweh, are you ruining all the remnant of Israel by pouring out your burning anger on Jerusalem?

And he said to me, The guilt of the house of Israel and Judah is very, very great; the land is filled with blood, and the city is full of injustice. For they say, Yahweh has forsaken the land, and Yahweh does not see.

And I also: my eye will not look with pity, and I will not spare; I will put their way on their own head.

And look, the man clothed in linen, who had the inkhorn at his loins, was bringing back word, saying, I have done everything as you commanded me.
