The word of Yahweh came to me, saying:
And you, son of man, thus says the Adonai Yahweh to the ground of Israel: An end! The end has come upon the four edges of the land.
Now the end is upon you, and I will send forth my anger against you, and I will judge you by your ways, and I will lay on you all your abominations.
My eye will not pity you, and I will not spare; for I will put your ways on you, and your abominations will be in your midst; and you will know that I am Yahweh.
Thus says the Adonai Yahweh: A misery, a single misery—look, it is coming.
An end has come; it has come, the end; it has awakened against you; look, it is coming.
The turn of affairs has come to you, you who dwell in the land; the time has come, the day is near—panic, and not a joyful shout on the mountains.
Now very soon I will pour out my rage on you, and I will spend my anger on you, and I will judge you by your ways, and I will lay on you all your abominations.
My eye will not pity, and I will not spare; I will lay on you according to your ways, and your abominations will be in your midst; and you will know that I, Yahweh, am the one who strikes.
Look, the day! Look, it is coming. The turn of affairs has gone out; the rod has blossomed; arrogance has budded.
Violence has risen up into a rod of wickedness; none of them, none of their multitude, none of their wealth, and no distinction among them.
The time has come, the day has reached; let the buyer not rejoice, and let the seller not mourn, for anger is against all her hordes.
For the seller will not return to what was sold, even while their life is still among the living; for the vision concerns all her hordes, it will not turn back; and each man, in his guilt, his life will not grow strong.
They have blown the trumpet and made everything ready, but no one goes to the battle, for my anger is against all her hordes.
The sword is outside, and the pestilence and the famine inside; whoever is in the field will die by the sword, and whoever is in the city, famine and pestilence will eat him.
And their fugitives will escape and be on the mountains, like the doves of the valleys, all of them murmuring, each man for his guilt.
All hands will go slack, and all knees will go to water.
They will gird on sackcloth, and shuddering will cover them; shame will be on every face, and baldness on all their heads.
They will throw their silver into the streets, and their gold will become an impure thing; their silver and their gold will not be able to rescue them on the day of Yahweh's fury. They will not satisfy their being, and they will not fill their inward parts, for it was the stumbling block of their guilt.
As for the beauty of his ornament, he set it to pride; and the images of their abominations, their detestable things, they made with it. Therefore I have made it for them an impure thing.
And I will give it into the hand of the foreigners as booty, and to the wicked of the land as plunder, and they will profane it.
And I will turn my face away from them, and they will profane my hidden place; and violent men will come into it and profane it.
Make the chain, for the land is full of the justice of bloodshed, and the city is full of violence.
And I will bring the evil ones of the nations, and they will take possession of their houses; and I will put an end to the pride of the strong, and their sanctuaries will be profaned.
Terror has come; and they will seek wholeness, but there is none.
Disaster upon disaster will come, and report upon report will be; and they will seek a vision from the prophet, but instruction will perish from the priest, and counsel from the elders.
The king will mourn, and the prince will wear wasteland, and the hands of the people of the land will be terrified; I will deal with them in keeping with their way, and by their justice I will judge them; and they will know that I am Yahweh.
