Then he brought me back to the entrance of the house, and behold, waters were coming out from beneath the threshold of the house toward the east, for the face of the house was toward the east, and the waters were coming down from beneath, from the right shoulder of the house, south of the altar.
He brought me out by way of the gate of the north and led me around by the way outside to the gate of the outside, the way that faces east; and behold, waters were trickling from the right shoulder.
As the man went out eastward with a line in his hand, he measured a thousand by the cubit and made me pass through the waters, waters up to the ends of the legs.
He measured another thousand and made me pass through the waters, waters to the knees; he measured another thousand and made me pass through, waters to the loins.
He measured another thousand: a wadi that I could not pass through, for the waters had risen, waters for swimming, a wadi that could not be passed through.
He said to me: Have you seen, son of man? Then he led me and brought me back to the edge of the wadi.
When I returned, behold, at the edge of the wadi were very many trees, on this side and on that.
And he said to me: These waters are going out to the eastern territory and will go down to the Arabah and will come to the sea; to the sea they are brought out, and the waters will be healed.
And it will be that every living being that swarms, wherever the wadis come, will live; and the fish will be very many, for these waters have come there, and they will be healed, and everything will live wherever the wadi comes.
And it will be that fishermen will stand beside it; from En-gedi to En-eglaim they will be a spreading place for nets; their fish will be according to its kind, like the fish of the great sea, very many.
Its swamps and its marshes will not be healed; they are given up to salt.
And by the wadi, on its edge, on this side and on that, every tree for food will grow up; its leaf will not wither, and its fruit will not come to an end; every month it will bear early fruit, for its waters come out from the sanctuary; and its fruit will be for food, and its leaf for healing.
So says the Adonai Yahweh: This is the boundary by which you will inherit the land, for the twelve tribes of Israel: Joseph, measured portions.
And you will inherit it, each one like his brother, as I lifted up my hand to give it to your fathers; and this land will fall to you as an inheritance.
And this is the boundary of the land: on the northern corner, from the great sea, the way of Hethlon, as one comes to Zedad.
Hamath, Berothah, Sibraim, which lies between the boundary of Damascus and the boundary of Hamath; Hazer-hattikon, which is on the boundary of Hauran.
And the boundary from the sea will be Hazar-enan, the boundary of Damascus, and on the north, northward, and the boundary of Hamath; and this is the corner of the north.
And the east corner: from between Hauran and Damascus, and between Gilead and the land of Israel, the Jordan; from the boundary to the eastern sea you will measure; and this is the east corner.
And the south corner, southward: from Tamar to the waters of Meribath-kadesh, along the wadi to the great sea; and this is the south corner, southward.
And the corner of the sea: the great sea, from the boundary as far as opposite where one comes to Hamath; this is the corner of the sea.
And you will divide this land for yourselves among the tribes of Israel.
And it will be that you will cause it to fall by lot as an inheritance for yourselves and for the sojourners who live in your midst, who have borne children in your midst; and they will be to you like the native-born among the children of Israel; with you they will fall into an inheritance in the midst of the tribes of Israel.
And it will be that in the tribe with which the sojourner lives, there you will give him his inheritance, the utterance of the Adonai Yahweh.
