¹The word of Yahweh came to me, saying:

²Son of man, set your face against the mountain of Seir and prophesy against it.

³Say to it: This is what the Adonai Yahweh says: Here I am against you, mountain of Seir; I will stretch out my hand against you and I will make you a wasteland and a devastation.

⁴I will make your cities ruins, and you will be a wasteland; and you will know that I am Yahweh.

⁵Because you had enmity forever, and delivered the children of Israel up to the hands of the sword in the time of their calamity, in the time of the guilt of the end,

⁶Therefore, as I live — the utterance of the Adonai Yahweh — I will make you blood, and blood will pursue you; since you did not hate blood, so blood will pursue you.

⁷I will make the mountain of Seir into a wasteland and a devastation, and I will cut off from it the one who passes through and the one who returns.

⁸I will fill its mountains with its slain; your hills, your valleys, and all your channels — those slain by the sword will fall in them.

⁹I will make you wastelands forever, and your cities will not return; and you will know that I am Yahweh.

¹⁰Because you said, 'The two nations and the two lands will belong to me, and we will take possession of it' — and Yahweh was there —

¹¹Therefore, as I live — the utterance of the Adonai Yahweh — I will act according to your anger and according to your jealousy, which you did out of your hatred against them; and I will make myself known among them when I will judge you.

¹²And you will know that I am Yahweh. I have heard all your contempt that you said against the mountains of Israel, saying, 'They are desolated; to us they have been given as food.'

¹³You made yourselves great against me with your mouth, and you multiplied your words against me; I heard.

¹⁴This is what the Adonai Yahweh says: When all the land rejoices, I will make you a wasteland.

¹⁵As your gladness at the inheritance of the house of Israel, because it was desolated, so I will do to you: you will be a wasteland, mountain of Seir, and all Edom, all of it; and they will know that I am Yahweh.
