Ezekiel3

And he said to me, Son of man, eat what you find; eat this scroll, and go, speak to the house of Israel.

And I opened wide my mouth, and he fed me this scroll.

And he said to me, Son of man, feed your belly and fill your inward parts with this scroll that I am giving you. And I ate it, and it was in my mouth like honey for sweetness.

And he said to me, Son of man, go, come to the house of Israel, and speak to them with my words.

For you are not sent to a people of unintelligible lip and heavy tongue, but to the house of Israel —

not to many peoples of unintelligible lip and heavy tongue, whose words you cannot understand. Surely, if I had sent you to them, they would listen to you.

And the house of Israel will be unwilling to listen to you, for they are unwilling to listen to me; for all the house of Israel, they are mighty of forehead and harsh of heart.

Behold, I have set your face mighty, to match their faces, and your forehead mighty, to match their foreheads.

Like adamant, mightier than flint, I have set your forehead. Do not fear them, and do not be dismayed before their faces, for they are a house of rebellion.

And he said to me, Son of man, take into your heart all my words that I will speak to you, and hear with your ears.

And go, come to the exiles, to the children of your people, and speak to them and say to them, This is what the Adonai Yahweh says, whether they listen or whether they cease.

And a spirit lifted me up, and I heard behind me the sound of a great quaking: Blessed be the weightiness of Yahweh from its place.

And the sound of the wings of the living creatures, kissing one another, and the sound of the wheels beside them, and the sound of a great quaking.

And a spirit lifted me up and took me, and I went bitter in the heat of my spirit, and the hand of Yahweh was strong upon me.

And I came to the exiles at Tel Abib, those who dwell by the river of Kebar. And I dwelled where they were dwelling, and I dwelled there seven days, appalled in their midst.

And it happened, at the end of seven days, that the word of Yahweh came to me, saying,

Son of man, I have set you as a watchman for the house of Israel; and you will hear a word from my mouth, and you will warn them from me.

When I say to the wicked, You will surely die, and you do not warn him, and you do not speak to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to keep him alive — that wicked one will die in his guilt, and his blood I will require from your hand.

But you, if you have warned the wicked person, and he has not turned away from his wickedness and from his wicked way, he will die in his guilt, but you have delivered your being.

And in the returning of the righteous from his righteousness, and he will make injustice, and I set a stumbling-block to his face — he will die; you warned it not, in his sin he will die, and his righteousness which he made will not be remembered, and his blood from your hand I will search.

But you, if you warn the righteous one not to sin, and the righteous one does not sin, he will surely live, for he was warned; and you have delivered your being.

And the hand of Yahweh was upon me there, and he said to me, Rise, go out to the valley, and there I will speak with you.

And I rose and went out to the valley, and behold, the weightiness of Yahweh was standing there, like the weightiness that I had seen by the river of Kebar; and I fell on my face.

And a spirit came into me and made me stand on my feet, and he spoke with me and said to me, Go, shut yourself up in the middle of your house.

And you, son of the man, behold, they will put cords on you and bind you with them, and you will not go out in their midst.

And your tongue I will make cling to your palate, and you will be mute, and you will not be for them a man who reproves, for they are a house of rebellion.

And when I speak with you, I will open wide your mouth, and you will say to them, Like this says the Adonai Yahweh: the one who hears, let him hear; and the one who ceases, let him cease; for they are a house of rebellion.
