Ezekiel26

And it happened in the eleventh year, on the first of the month, that the word of Yahweh came to me, saying:

Son of man, because Tyre said about Jerusalem, Aha! The doors of the peoples are broken; she has turned to me; I will be filled, she is laid waste —

Therefore thus says Adonai Yahweh: Look, I am against you, Tyre, and I will bring up against you many nations, as the sea brings up its waves.

They will ruin the walls of Tyre and tear down her towers, and I will scrape her dust from her and make her a bare crag.

She will be a spreading place for nets in the middle of the sea, for I have spoken, the utterance of Adonai Yahweh; and she will become plunder for the nations.

And her daughters who are in the field will be killed by the sword, and they will know that I am Yahweh.

For thus says Adonai Yahweh: Look, I am bringing against Tyre Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, from the north, king of kings, with horses and with chariotry and with horsemen, and a company, and a numerous people.

Your daughters in the field he will kill by the sword; and he will set a siege-wall against you, and pour out a mound against you, and raise up a shield against you.

And the strike of his battering-ram he will set against your walls, and your towers he will break down with his swords.

From the abundance of his horses; their dust will cover you; from the sound of horsemen and wheel and chariot your walls will shake, when he comes into your gates, like the entering of a city that is broken into.

With the hooves of his horses he will trample all your streets; your people he will kill by the sword, and the pillars of your strength will come down to the land.

They will plunder your wealth and take your merchandise as spoil, and tear down your walls and pull down your precious houses; and your stones and your wood and your dust they will put in the middle of the waters.

And I will make the noise of your songs cease, and the sound of your lyres will not be heard again.

And I will make you a bare crag; you will be a spreading place for nets; you will not be built again, for I, Yahweh, have spoken, the utterance of Adonai Yahweh.

Thus says Adonai Yahweh to Tyre: Will the coastlands not shake at the sound of your ruin, at the groan of the fatally wounded, when there is killing, slaughter, in the middle of you?

And all the princes of the sea will come down from their thrones, and remove their robes, and strip off their embroidered garments; they will put on tremblings, they will sit on the land, and tremble by the moment, and be appalled at you.

And they will lift up a lament over you and say to you: How you have perished, O inhabited one from the seas, the city once praised, who was mighty on the sea, she and her dwellers, who put their terror on all her inhabitants!

Now the coastlands will tremble on the day of your ruin, and the coastlands that are in the sea will be terrified at your going out.

For thus says Adonai Yahweh: When I make you a city laid desolate, like cities that are not dwelt in, when I bring up the deep over you, and the many waters cover you,

And I will bring you down with those who go down to the pit, to a people of forever, and I will make you dwell in the land of the lowest parts, like ruins from forever, with those who go down to the pit, so that you will not dwell; and I will give beauty in the land of the living.

I will make you terrors, and you will be no more; and you will be sought, but you will not be found again, forever, the utterance of Adonai Yahweh.
