¹The word of Yahweh came to me, saying:

²Son of man, set your face toward the children of Ammon and prophesy against them.

³Say to the children of Ammon: Hear the word of Adonai Yahweh. Thus says Adonai Yahweh: Because you said, Aha! over my sanctuary, for it was profaned, and over the ground of Israel, for it was made desolate, and over the house of Judah, for they went into exile —

⁴Therefore, look, I am about to give you to the children of the east as a possession; they will dwell with their encampments among you and set their dwelling places in you; they will eat your fruit and they will drink your milk.

⁵I will make Rabbah a dwelling place for camels and the children of Ammon a fold for the flock, and you will know that I am Yahweh.

⁶For thus says Adonai Yahweh: Because you clapped your hand and stamped with your foot and rejoiced with all your contempt, in your being, over the ground of Israel,

⁷Therefore, look, I will stretch out my hand against you and give you as plunder to the nations; I will cut you off from the peoples and make you perish from the lands; I will destroy you, and you will know that I am Yahweh.

⁸Thus says Adonai Yahweh: Because Moab and Seir say, Look, the house of Judah is like all the nations.

⁹Therefore, look, I am opening wide the shoulder of Moab, from the cities, from its cities, from its end, the beauty of the land: Beth-jeshimoth, Baal-meon, and Kiriathaim.

¹⁰to the children of the east, along with the children of Ammon, and I will give it as a possession, so that the children of Ammon will not be remembered among the nations.

¹¹And in Moab I will carry out judgments, and they will know that I am Yahweh.

¹²Thus says Adonai Yahweh: Because Edom acted in taking vengeance, a vengeance against the house of Judah, and they became guilty, truly guilty, and avenged themselves on them —

¹³Therefore thus says Adonai Yahweh: I will stretch out my hand against Edom and cut off from it man and livestock, and I will make it a ruin; from Teman to Dedan they will fall by the sword.

¹⁴And I will put my vengeance on Edom by the hand of my people Israel, and they will deal with Edom according to my anger and according to my rage; and they will know my vengeance, the utterance of Adonai Yahweh.

¹⁵Thus says Adonai Yahweh: Because the Philistines acted in vengeance and took vengeance, with contempt in their being, for destruction, in enmity forever —

¹⁶Therefore thus says Adonai Yahweh: Look, I am stretching out my hand against the Philistines, and I will cut off the Kerethites, and I will destroy the remnant of the coast of the sea.

¹⁷And I will carry out great vengeances on them with rebukes of anger, and they will know that I am Yahweh, when I put my vengeance on them.
