¹And he said to me, son of humankind, stand on your feet, and I will speak with you.

²And a spirit came into me just as he spoke to me, and it made me stand on my feet; and I heard the one who was speaking to me.

³He said to me, son of humankind, I am sending you to the children of Israel, to nations that rebel, which have rebelled against me — they and their ancestors have transgressed against me to this very day.

⁴And the children, harsh of face and mighty of heart — I am sending you to them, and you will say to them, This is what the Adonai Yahweh says.

⁵And they — whether they listen or whether they cease, for they are a house of rebellion — will know that a prophet has been in their midst.

⁶And you, son of man, do not be afraid of them, and do not be afraid of their words, though briers and thorns are with you, and you dwell among scorpions; do not be afraid of their words, and do not be dismayed before their faces, for they are a house of rebellion.

⁷And you will speak my words to them, whether they listen or whether they cease, for they are rebellious.

⁸And you, son of man, hear what I am speaking to you. Do not be rebellious like the house of rebellion; open your mouth and eat what I am giving you.

⁹And I saw, and behold, a hand was stretched out to me, and behold, in it was a scroll of writing.

¹⁰And he spread out it before my face; and it was written on the face and on the back, and written on it were lamentations, and moaning, and wailing.
