¹A wind lifted me up and brought me to the gate of the house of Yahweh, the eastern one that faces eastward, and behold, at the entrance of the gate were twenty-five men; and I saw among them Jaazaniah son of Azzur and Pelatiah son of Benaiah, officials of the people.

²He said to me, Son of man, these are the men who plan iniquity and who advise evil counsel in this city.

³who say, Is it not near? Build houses! She is the pot, and we are the flesh.

⁴Therefore prophesy against them; prophesy, son of man.

⁵The breath of Yahweh fell on me, and he said to me, Say, Like this Yahweh says: So you have said, house of Israel; and what rises up in your breath, I myself know it.

⁶You have multiplied your slain in this city and have filled its streets with the slain.

⁷Therefore like this says Adonai Yahweh: Your slain, whom you have put in the middle of her, they are the flesh and she is the pot; but you I will bring out from the middle of her.

⁸A sword you have feared, and a sword I will bring on you, the utterance of Adonai Yahweh.

⁹And I will bring you out from the middle of her and I will give you into the hand of foreigners, and I will carry out judgments on you.

¹⁰By the sword you will fall; at the boundary of Israel I will judge you, and you will know that I am Yahweh.

¹¹She will not be a pot for you, nor will you be flesh in the middle of her; at the boundary of Israel I will judge you.

¹²And you will know that I am Yahweh, since you have not walked in my statutes and have not done my justice, but have done according to the custom of the nations which are around you.

¹³And it happened, as I prophesied, that Pelatiah son of Benaiah died; and I fell on my face and I cried out with a loud voice and I said, Alas, Adonai Yahweh, are you making a complete end of the remnant of Israel?

¹⁴And the word of Yahweh came to me, saying,

¹⁵Son of man, your brothers, your brothers, the men of your redemption, and all the house of Israel, all of it, to whom those dwelling in Jerusalem have said, Be far from Yahweh; to us this land has been given as a possession.

¹⁶Therefore say, Like this says Adonai Yahweh: Though I removed them far away among the nations, and though I scattered them among the lands, yet I have become a little sanctuary to them in the lands where they have come.

¹⁷Therefore say, Like this says Adonai Yahweh: I will gather you together from the peoples, and I will gather you from the lands among which you were scattered, and I will give you the ground of Israel.

¹⁸They will come there, and they will remove all its detestable things and all its abominations from it.

¹⁹I will give them one heart and I will put a new breath within you, and I will remove the heart of stone from their flesh and I will give them a heart of flesh,

²⁰so that they may walk in my statutes and keep my justice and do them; and they will be a people to me, and I will be God to them.

²¹But those whose heart goes toward the heart of their detestable things and their abominations, their way I will set on their own head, the utterance of Adonai Yahweh.

²²And the cherubim lifted up their wings, with the wheels alongside them, and the weightiness of the God of Israel was over them, above.

²³The weightiness of Yahweh went up from over the middle of the city and stood over the mountain that is east of the city.

²⁴And a spirit lifted me up and brought me to Chaldea, to the exiles, in a vision by the spirit of God; and the vision that I had seen went up from over me.

²⁵And I spoke to the exiles all the words of Yahweh that he had shown me.
