And I looked, and there, upon the expanse that was above the heads of the cherubim, something like a sapphire stone appeared, like the look of the likeness of a throne, above them.
And he said to the man clothed in linen, and he said, Go in among the wheel, under the cherub, and fill the hollows of your hands with coals of fire from between the cherubim, and toss them over the city. And he went in before my eyes.
And the cherubim were standing on the right side of the house when the man went in, and the cloud filled the inner court.
And the weightiness of Yahweh rose high from over the cherub, over the threshold of the house; and the house was filled with the cloud, and the court was full of the brightness of the weightiness of Yahweh.
And the sound of the wings of the cherubim was heard as far as the outer court, like the sound of God Almighty when he speaks.
And when he commanded the man clothed in linen, saying, Take fire from between the wheel, from between the cherubim, he went in and stood beside the wheel.
And the cherub stretched out his hand from between the cherubim to the fire that was between the cherubim, and lifted some up and put it into the hollows of the hands of the one clothed in linen; and he took it and went out.
And there appeared on the cherubim the figure of a human hand under their wings.
And I looked, and there were four wheels beside the cherubim, one wheel beside one cherub, and one wheel beside one cherub; and the look of the wheels was like the gleam of a chrysolite stone.
And their look was one likeness for the four of them, just as a wheel would be in the middle of a wheel.
When they went, they went toward their four sides; they did not turn as they went. For the place where the head faced, they went after it; they did not turn as they went.
And all their flesh, and their backs, and their hands, and their wings, and the wheels were full of eyes all around, for the four of them, their wheels.
As for the wheels, Whirl was called out to them in my ears.
And four faces belonged to each one: the face of the first was the face of the cherub, and the face of the second was the face of a human, and the third was the face of a lion, and the fourth was the face of an eagle.
And the cherubim rose up. That was the living creature that I had seen by the river Kebar.
And when the cherubim went, the wheels would go beside them; and when the cherubim lifted up their wings to rise high from over the land, the wheels also did not turn from beside them.
When they stood still, they would stand still; and when they rose high, they would rise with them. For the breath of the living creature was in them.
And the weightiness of Yahweh went out from over the threshold of the house and stood over the cherubim.
And the cherubim lifted up their wings and rose from the land before my eyes as they went out, with the wheels alongside them. And it stood at the entrance of the gate of the house of Yahweh, the eastern one, and the weightiness of the God of Israel was over them, above.
This is the living creature that I saw under the God of Israel by the river Kebar, and I knew that they were cherubim.
Each one had four faces, and each one had four wings, and the likeness of human hands was under their wings.
And the likeness of their faces: they were the faces that I had seen by the river Kebar, their appearance and they themselves; each went in the direction its face was turned.
