Exodus30

You will make an altar, a smoke-place for incense; of acacia wood you will make it.

A cubit its length and a cubit its width, square it will be; and two cubits its height; its horns will be of one piece with it.

You will overlay it with clean gold: its top, its walls all around, and its horns. And you will make for it a molding of gold all around.

And two rings of gold you will make for it, from under its molding, on its two flanks you will make them, on its two sides; and they will be holders for poles, to carry it by them.

You will make the poles of acacia wood, and overlay them with gold.

You will put it before the face of the curtain that is over the ark of the testimony, before the face of the atonement cover that is over the testimony, where I will meet with you there.

On it Aaron will make smoke with incense of spices, morning by morning, when he sets the lamps right, he will make it smoke.

And when Aaron makes the lamps rise in flame between the evenings, he will make it smoke: a continual incense before the face of Yahweh, for your generations.

You will not offer up on it strange incense, or a burnt offering, or a grain offering; and a drink offering you will not pour out on it.

Once in the year Aaron will cover over its horns; from the blood of the sin offering of the atonements, once in the year he will cover over it, for your generations. It is most holy to Yahweh.

Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying:

When you take up the sum of the children of Israel, according to those mustered of them, each man will give a ransom for his being to Yahweh when you muster them, and there will be no blow among them when you muster them.

This is what everyone who passes over to those mustered will give: half a shekel by the shekel of the holy place, twenty gerahs to the shekel; half a shekel is a contribution to Yahweh.

Everyone who passes over to those mustered, from twenty years old and upward, will give the contribution of Yahweh.

The rich will not make more, and the poor will not make less, than half the shekel, when giving the contribution of Yahweh, to cover over your living beings.

You will take the silver of the atonements from the children of Israel and put it to the work of the tent of appointed meeting; and it will be for the children of Israel a memorial before the face of Yahweh, to cover over your living beings.

Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying:

You will make a basin of bronze, with its base of bronze, for washing; and you will put it between the tent of appointed meeting and the altar, and you will put water there.

Aaron and his sons will wash their hands and their feet from it.

When they go into the tent of appointed meeting, they will wash with water so that they do not die; or when they draw near to the altar to serve, to make a fire offering smoke to Yahweh,

They will wash their hands and their feet so that they do not die. And it will be a decree forever for them, for him and for his seed, for their generations.

Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying:

And you, take for yourself spices of the best: five hundred of flowing myrrh, and fragrant cinnamon, half of it, two hundred fifty, and fragrant reed, two hundred fifty.

and cassia, five hundred, by the shekel of the holy place; and a hin of olive oil.

You will make it into oil of holy anointing, a spice blend of ointment, the work of a perfumer; it will be oil of holy anointing.

You will anoint with it the tent of the appointed time, and the ark of the testimony,

and the table and all its articles, and the lampstand and its articles, and the altar of incense,

and the altar of the burnt offering and all its articles, and the basin and its base.

You will set apart them, and they will be most holy; everything that touches them will be set apart.

And Aaron and his sons you will anoint, and set apart them to serve as priests for me.

And to the children of Israel you will speak, saying: This will be oil of holy anointing for me throughout your generations.

On the flesh of a person it must not be poured, and you must not make anything like it in its proportions; it is holy, it will be holy to you.

Anyone who mixes any like it, or who puts any of it on an outsider, will be cut off from his people.

Yahweh said to Moses: Take for yourself spices: stacte, onycha, and galbanum, these spices, and pure frankincense; part for part let it be.

You will make it into incense, a perfume, the work of a perfumer, salted, clean, a holy thing.

You will beat some of it fine, to powder, and you will put some of it before the testimony in the tent of the appointed time, where I will meet with you there. It will be most holy to you.

As for the incense that you make, you must not make any for yourselves in its proportions; it will be a holy thing to you, for Yahweh.

Anyone who makes any like it, to smell it, will be cut off from his people.
