Exodus28

And you, bring near to you Aaron your brother, and his sons with him, from the midst of the children of Israel, to act as priest for me: Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar, sons of Aaron.

And you will make holy garments for Aaron your brother, for weightiness and for beauty.

And you will speak to all who are skilled in heart, whom I have filled with a breath of wisdom, and they will make the garments of Aaron to set him apart, to act as priest for me.

And these are the garments that they will make: a breastpiece, an ephod, a robe, a checkered tunic, a turban and a sash; and they will make holy garments for Aaron your brother and for his sons, to act as priest for me.

And they will take the gold, the cerulean, the purple, the scarlet worm-stuff and the fine linen.

And they will make the ephod: gold, cerulean, purple, scarlet worm-stuff, and twisted fine linen, the work of a skillful worker.

It will have two joining shoulder-pieces at its two ends, and it will be joined.

And the woven band of its ephod, which is upon it, will be made like its work, out of the same: gold, cerulean, purple, scarlet worm-stuff and twisted fine linen.

And you will take two onyx stones and engrave on them the names of the children of Israel.

Six of their names on the one stone, and the names of the six that remain on the second stone, according to their generations.

The work of an engraver in stone, the engravings of a seal, you will engrave the two stones with the names of the children of Israel; encircled in plaited settings of gold you will make them.

And you will set the two stones on the shoulder-pieces of the ephod, stones of remembrance for the children of Israel; and Aaron will bear their names before the face of Yahweh on his two shoulder-pieces for remembrance.

And you will make plaited settings of gold.

And two chains of pure gold, twisted cords you will make them, a work of cordage; and you will put the chains of cords on the plaited settings.

And you will make a breastpiece of justice, the work of a skillful worker; like the work of the ephod you will make it: gold, cerulean, purple, scarlet worm-stuff and twisted fine linen you will make it.

It will be square, folded double: a span its length and a span its width.

And you will fill it with a setting of stones, four rows of stone: a row of ruby, topaz and emerald, the first row.

And the second row: a turquoise, a sapphire and a diamond.

And the third row: a jacinth, an agate and an amethyst.

And the fourth row: a chrysolite, an onyx and a jasper, set in gold; they will be in their settings.

And the stones will be on the names of the children of Israel, twelve on their names, the engravings of a seal, each one on his name; they will be for the twelve tribes.

And you will make chains on the breastpiece, braided cord work, of pure gold.

And you will make two gold rings on the breastpiece, and you will put the two rings on the two ends of the breastpiece.

And you will put the two cords of gold on the two rings, at the ends of the breastpiece.

And the two ends of the two cords you will put on the two filigree settings, and you will put them on the shoulders of the ephod, in front of its face.

And you will make two gold rings, and you will put them on the two ends of the breastpiece, on its edge that is toward the side of the ephod, inward.

And you will make two gold rings, and you will put them on the two shoulders of the ephod, below, in front of its face, next to its seam, above the waistband of the ephod.

And they are to bind the breastpiece by its rings to the rings of the ephod with a cord of violet thread, so that it is above the waistband of the ephod, and the breastpiece will not be displaced from the ephod.

And Aaron will carry the names of the children of Israel on the breastpiece of justice over his heart, when he comes into the holy place, as a memorial before the face of Yahweh continually.

And you will put the Urim and the Thummim into the breastpiece of justice, and they will be over the heart of Aaron when he comes before the face of Yahweh; and Aaron will carry the justice of the children of Israel over his heart before the face of Yahweh continually.

And you will make the robe of the ephod entirely of violet thread.

And the opening of its head will be in its middle; an edge will be at its opening all around, the work of a weaver; like the opening of a collar it will have, so it will not be torn.

And you will make pomegranates on its skirts, of violet thread, purple, and scarlet, on its skirts all around, and gold bells between them all around.

A gold bell and a pomegranate, a gold bell and a pomegranate, on the skirts of the robe all around.

And it will be on Aaron when he serves, and its sound will be heard when he comes into the holy place before the face of Yahweh and when he goes out, so that he will not die.

And you will make a flower of pure gold, and engrave on it, as engravings of a seal: Holiness to Yahweh.

And you will put it on a cord of violet thread, and it will be on the turban; at the front of the face of the turban it will be.

And it will be on the forehead of Aaron, and Aaron will carry the guilt of the holy things that the children of Israel set apart, for all their holy gifts; and it will be on his forehead continually, for their acceptance before the face of Yahweh.

And you will weave in checkered work the tunic of white linen, and you will make a turban of white linen, and a sash you will make, the work of a worker in colors.

And for the sons of Aaron you will make tunics, and you will make sashes for them, and caps you will make for them, for weightiness and for beauty.

And you clothed with them Aaron your brother and his sons with him, and anointed them and filled their hand and set them apart, and they served to me.

And make for them undergarments of linen to cover the flesh of nakedness; from the loins to the thighs they will reach.

And they will be on Aaron and on his sons whenever they come into the tent of appointed meeting, or when they draw near to the altar to serve in the holy place, so that they do not bear guilt and die. It is a statute forever for him and for his seed after him.
