Then Moses and the children of Israel sang this song to Yahweh, and they said: I will sing to Yahweh, for he is highly exalted; the horse and its rider he has thrown into the sea.
My strength and song is Yah, and he has become my deliverance; this is my God, and I will celebrate him; the God of my father, and I will lift him high.
Yahweh is a man of war; Yahweh is his name.
Pharaoh's chariots and his army he has thrown into the sea, and the choicest of his officers were sunk in the Sea of Reeds.
The deeps covered them; they went down into the depths like a stone.
Your right hand, Yahweh, is glorious in strength; your right hand, Yahweh, shatters the enemy.
And in the abundance of your majesty you threw down those who rose against you; you sent forth your burning anger, it ate them like stubble.
And by the breath of your nostrils the waters were piled up; the streams stood like a heap; the deeps congealed in the heart of the sea.
The enemy said: I will pursue, I will overtake, I will divide the plunder; my being will be filled with them; I will draw my sword, my hand will dispossess them.
You blew with your wind, the sea covered them; they sank like lead in mighty waters.
Who is like you among the gods, Yahweh? Who is like you, glorious in holiness, awesome in praises, doing wonders?
You stretched out your right hand; the land swallowed them down.
In your loyal love you led the people whom you redeemed; you guided them gently by your strength to your holy abode.
The peoples heard, they trembled; anguish took hold of the dwellers of Philistia.
Then the chiefs of Edom were terrified; the rams of Moab, trembling seized them; all the dwellers of Canaan melted away.
Terror and dread fall on them; by the greatness of your arm they are still as a stone, until your people pass over, Yahweh, until the people pass over whom you acquired.
You bring them in and plant them on the mountain of your inheritance, a settled place for you to dwell in, which you made, Yahweh, a sanctuary, Lord, which your hands established.
Yahweh will reign forever and ever.
For Pharaoh's horses came in with his chariotry and with his horsemen into the sea, and Yahweh brought back over them the waters of the sea; but the children of Israel walked on dry ground in the middle of the sea.
And Miriam the prophetess, the sister of Aaron, took the tambourine in her hand, and all the women went out after her with tambourines and with dances.
And Miriam answered them: Sing to Yahweh, for he is highly exalted; the horse and its rider he has thrown into the sea.
And Moses led Israel out from the Sea of Reeds, and they went out to the wilderness of Shur; they walked three days in the wilderness and did not find water.
And they came to Marah, but could not drink the waters from Marah, for they were bitter; therefore its name was called Marah.
And the people murmured against Moses, saying: What shall we drink?
And he cried out to Yahweh, and Yahweh showed him a tree; he threw it into the waters, and the waters became sweet. There he set for them a statute and a justice, and there he tested them.
And he said: If you truly listen to the voice of Yahweh your God, and do what is right in his eyes, and give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will not put on you any of the sickness that I put on Egypt; for I am Yahweh who heals you.
And they came to Elim, and there were twelve springs of water and seventy palm trees; and they encamped there beside the water.
