Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children,
and walk in selfless love, just as the Anointed One also loved us and gave himself up for us as an offering and a sacrifice to God as a sweet-smelling aroma.
But sexual immorality and all impurity or covetousness, let it not even be named among you, as is proper to holy ones;
and filthiness and foolish talking or crude joking, which were not fit, but rather thanksgiving.
For this you should know, realizing that any fornicator or unclean person or covetous man, who is an idolater, has no inheritance in the kingdom of the Anointed One and of God.
Let no one deceive you with empty words; for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience.
Therefore do not be partakers with them.
For you were once darkness, but now light in the Lord; walk as children of light —
for the fruit of the light is in all goodness and in righteousness and in truth —
discerning what is well-pleasing to the Lord.
And do not have fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather even expose them;
for the things being done by them in secret are shameful even to mention.
But everything being exposed by the light is made visible;
for everything which is becoming visible is light. Therefore it says: Awake, you who are sleeping, and rise up out from the dead, and the Anointed One will shine upon you.
Therefore take heed carefully how you walk, not as unwise but as wise,
redeeming the appointed-time, because the days are evil.
Because of this do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.
And do not be drunk with wine, in which is debauchery, but instead be filled with the Spirit,
speaking to each other in psalms and in hymns and in spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord,
giving thanks at all times for all things in the name of our Lord Jesus the Anointed One to God and Father;
submitting yourselves to one another in reverence of the Anointed One.
You who are wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands as to the Lord;
for the husband is head of the wife, as also the Anointed One is the head of the assembly, and he himself is Savior of the body;
but even as the assembly is subjected to the Anointed One, so also the wives to their own husbands in everything.
You who are husbands, love your own wives, even as also the Anointed One loved the assembly and gave himself up for her,
so that he may sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water by word,
so that he himself may present the assembly to himself in glory, not having spot or wrinkle or any of such things, but that it may be holy and blameless.
So ought also the husbands to love their own wives as their own bodies. The one who loves his own wife loves himself;
for no one at any time hated his own flesh, but he nourishes and cherishes it, even as also the Anointed One does the assembly,
for we are members of his body, from his flesh and from his bones.
Because of this a man will leave his father and the mother and will cling to his wife, and the two will be into one flesh.
This mystery is great, but I myself speak as to the Anointed One and as to the assembly.
However also you, each one according to the individual, so should love his own wife as himself, and the wife, that she may respect the husband.
