You are children of Yahweh your God; you will not gash yourselves, and you will not put a baldness between your eyes for the dead.
For you are a holy people to Yahweh your God, and Yahweh has chosen you to be for him a treasured people out of all the peoples that are on the face of the ground.
You will not eat any abomination.
This is the livestock that you will eat: an ox, one of the flock of lambs, and one of the flock of she-goats.
deer and gazelle and roebuck and wild goat and antelope and wild bull and mountain sheep.
And every animal that divides the hoof and splits the cleft of two hoofs, that brings up the cud among the animals, that one you will eat.
Only this you will not eat, from those that bring up the cud and from those that divide the hoof that is split: the camel, the hare, and the rock-rabbit, for they bring up the cud but do not divide the hoof; they are unclean for you.
And the pig, for it divides the hoof but has no cud, it is unclean for you; from their flesh you will not eat, and their carcass you will not touch.
This you will eat from all that is in the waters: all that has fin and scale you will eat.
And everything that has no fin and scale you will not eat; it is unclean for you.
Every clean little bird you will eat.
And this is what you will not eat of them: the eagle, the bearded vulture, and the osprey,
and the red kite, and the hawk, and the black falcon, after its kind,
and every raven after its kind,
and the daughter of the ostrich, and the nighthawk, and the gull, and the falcon, after its kind,
the owl, the night heron, and the water-hen,
and the pelican, and the carrion-vulture, and the cormorant,
and the stork, and the heron after its kind, and the hoopoe, and the bat.
And every swarmer of the flying creatures is unclean for you; they will not be eaten.
Every clean bird you will eat.
You will not eat any carcass; you will give it to the sojourner who is in your gates, and he will eat it, or you will sell it to a foreigner; for you are a holy people to Yahweh your God. You will not boil a young goat in the milk of its mother.
You will surely give a tenth of all the harvest of your seed that goes out of the field, year by year.
And you will eat before the face of Yahweh your God in the place where he will choose to make his name dwell there, the tenth of your grain, your new wine and your fresh oil, and the firstborn of your herd and your flock, so that you may learn to fear Yahweh your God all the days.
And if the way is too great for you, that you are not able to carry it, if the place is too far from you, where Yahweh your God will choose to put his name there, for Yahweh your God will bless you,
then you will give it for silver, and you will secure the silver in your hand, and you will go to the place which Yahweh your God will choose in it.
And you will give the silver for all that your being desires: for herd and for flock, for wine and for strong drink, and for all that your being asks of you; and you will eat there before the face of Yahweh your God, and you will rejoice, you and your household.
And the Levite who is in your gates, you will not forsake him, for he has no portion and inheritance with you.
At the end of three years you will bring out all the tenth of your harvest in that year, and you will lay it down in your gates.
And the Levite will come, for he has no portion and inheritance with you, and the sojourner and the fatherless and the widow who are in your gates, and they will eat and be satisfied, so that Yahweh your God may bless you in all the work of your hand that you make.
