You shall love Yahweh your God, and keep his duty, his statutes, his justice, and his commandments, all the days.
And you know today—for it is not your children, who have not known and have not seen—the discipline of Yahweh your God, his greatness, his mighty hand, and his outstretched arm,
and his signs and his works that he did in the midst of Egypt, to Pharaoh, king of Egypt, and to all his land,
and what he did to the army of Egypt, to its horses and its chariots, when he caused the water of the Sea of Reeds to overflow upon their faces as they chased after you, and Yahweh destroyed them, to this day;
and what he did for you in the wilderness until you came to this place;
and what he did to Dathan and Abiram, sons of Eliab, son of Reuben, when the land opened its mouth and swallowed them down, along with their houses and their tents, and every living thing that was at their feet, in the midst of all Israel.
For it is your eyes that have seen all the great work of Yahweh, which he did.
And you shall keep every commandment that I am commanding you today, so that you may be strong, and go in and occupy the land where you are crossing over to occupy it,
and so that you may prolong your days on the ground that Yahweh swore to your fathers to give to them and to their seed, a land flowing with milk and honey.
For the land that you are going into to occupy it is not like the land of Egypt, the one that you came out from there, where you sowed your seed and watered it with your foot like a vegetable garden;
but the land that you are crossing over to occupy is a land of mountains and valleys; it drinks water from the rain of the skies,
a land that Yahweh your God cares for; the eyes of Yahweh your God are on it continually, from the beginning of the year to the end of the year.
And it will be, if you truly listen to my commandments that I am commanding you today, to love Yahweh your God and to serve him with all your heart and with all your being,
And I will give the rain of your land in its time, the first rain and the spring rain, and you will gather your grain, your new wine, and your fresh oil.
And I will give grass in your field for your livestock, and you will eat and be satisfied.
Watch yourselves, lest your heart be enticed, and you turn aside and serve other gods and bow down to them,
and the anger of Yahweh will burn against you, and he will shut up the skies, and there will be no rain, and the ground will not give its produce, and you will perish quickly from off the good land that Yahweh is giving you.
So put these words of mine on your heart and on your being, and bind them as a sign on your hand, and let them be frontlets between your eyes.
And teach them to your children, speaking of them when you dwell in your house, and when you walk on the road, and when you lie down, and when you rise.
And write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.
so that your days and the days of your children may multiply on the ground that Yahweh swore to your fathers to give them, like the days of the skies above the land.
For if you indeed keep all this commandment that I am commanding you, to do it, to love Yahweh your God, to walk in all his ways, and to cleave to him,
And Yahweh will dispossess all these nations from before you, and you will dispossess nations greater and mightier than you.
Every place that the sole of your foot treads on will be yours: from the wilderness and Lebanon, from the river, the river of Euphrates, and to the last sea, your boundary will be.
No one will stand before you; Yahweh your God will put the dread of you and the fear of you over the face of all the land that you will tread on, just as he spoke to you.
See, I am setting before you today a blessing and a curse:
the blessing, if you listen to the commandments of Yahweh your God that I am commanding you today;
and the curse, if you do not listen to the commandments of Yahweh your God, and you turn aside from the way that I am commanding you today, to walk after other gods that you have not known.
And it will be, when Yahweh your God brings you into the land where you are going to occupy it, you shall set the blessing on Mount Gerizim and the curse on Mount Ebal.
Are they not across the Jordan, beyond the road of the sun's sunset, in the land of the Canaanite that dwells in the Arabah, opposite Gilgal, beside the terebinths of Moreh?
For you are crossing the Jordan to go in and occupy the land which Yahweh your God is giving you; and you will occupy it and dwell in it.
You will keep and do all the statutes and the justices that I am setting before you today.
