¹I saw the Lord standing upon the altar, and he said, 'Strike the capital, so that the thresholds shake; break them off on the heads of all of them. Then I will kill the last of them with the sword; no fugitive of theirs will flee away, and no escapee of theirs will slip away.'

²If they dig down into Sheol, from there my hand will take them; and if they go up to the skies, from there I will bring them down.

³And though they hide in the head of the Carmel, from there I will ransack and take them; and though they are hidden from before my eyes in the floor of the sea, from there I will command the snake, and it shall bite them.

⁴And if they go into captivity before their enemies, from there I will command the sword, and it will kill them; and I will set my eye on them for evil and not for good.

⁵And the Adonai Yahweh of hosts—the one who touches the land and it melts, and all who live in it mourn, and all of it rises like the Nile and sinks like the Nile of Egypt.

⁶He who builds his stairways in the skies and has founded his vault over the land; who calls to the waters of the sea and pours them out over the face of the land—Yahweh is his name.

⁷Are you not like the children of the Cushites to me, O children of Israel? The utterance of Yahweh. Did I not bring up Israel from the land of Egypt, and the Philistines from Caphtor, and Aram from Kir?

⁸Look, the eyes of the Adonai Yahweh are on the sinful kingdom, and I will destroy it from off the face of the ground; except that I will not utterly destroy the house of Jacob, the utterance of Yahweh.

⁹For look, I am commanding, and I will shake the house of Israel among all the nations, just as it is tossed about in a sieve, and not a kernel will fall to the land.

¹⁰All the sinners of my people will die by the sword, those who say, 'The evil will not draw near, nor meet us from behind.'

¹¹On that day I will raise up the fallen booth of David, wall up their breaches, raise up his ruins, and rebuild it like the days of forever past.

¹²so that they may take possession of the remnant of Edom and of all the nations over whom my name is called, the utterance of Yahweh, who is doing this.

¹³Look, days are coming, the utterance of Yahweh, when the plowman will draw near to the reaper, and the treader of grapes to the sower of seed; and the mountains will drip sweet wine, and all the hills will melt.

¹⁴And I will bring back the captives of my people Israel; they will rebuild the desolate cities and live in them; they will plant vineyards and drink their wine; they will make gardens and eat their fruit.

¹⁵And I will plant them on their ground, and they will not again be plucked up from their ground that I have given them, says Yahweh your God.
