Thus says Yahweh: For three transgressions of Moab, and for four, I will not turn it back — because he burned the bones of the king of Edom to lime.
And I will send fire into Moab, and it will devour the citadels of Kerioth; and Moab will die in an uproar, with a shout of alarm, with the sound of the horn.
And I will cut off the judge from her midst, and all her officials I will kill with him, said Yahweh.
Thus says Yahweh: For three transgressions of Judah, and for four, I will not turn it back — because they rejected the instruction of Yahweh and did not keep his statutes; and their lies made them wander, those lies after which their fathers walked.
And I will send fire into Judah, and it will devour the citadels of Jerusalem.
Thus says Yahweh: For three transgressions of Israel, and for four, I will not turn it back — because they sold the righteous for silver, and the needy for the sake of a pair of sandals.
They trample the dust of the land on the heads of the poor, and turn aside the way of the humble; a man and his father go to the same young woman, so as to profane my holy name.
And on garments taken in pledge they stretch themselves out beside every altar, and the wine of those who were fined they drink in the house of their God.
And it was I who destroyed the Amorite from before them, whose height was like the height of cedars, and he was strong as oaks; and I destroyed his fruit above and his roots beneath.
And it was I who brought you up from the land of Egypt, and led you in the wilderness forty years, to take possession of the land of the Amorite.
And I raised up some of your sons to be prophets, and some of your young men to be Consecrated ones. Is this not indeed so, sons of Israel? — the utterance of Yahweh.
But you gave the Consecrated ones wine to drink, and commanded the prophets, saying: You must not prophesy.
Look, I am about to cause tottering beneath you, just as the cart totters when it is full of cut grain.
A place to flee will be lost to the swift, and the strong will not make his power firm, and the mighty one will not deliver his living being.
The one who handles the bow will not stand, and the one swift on his feet will not escape, and the rider of the horse will not deliver his living being.
And the one strong of heart among the mighty men will flee naked on that day — the utterance of Yahweh.
