Acts9

But Saul, still breathing out threats and murder toward the disciples of the Lord, having gone to the high priest,

Requested from him letters in Damascus to the synagogues, so that if any he shall find being of the way, both men and women, bound he may bring them to Jerusalem.

Now in the proceeding it came to pass, as he is drawing near to Damascus, suddenly also a light from the heaven flashed around him;

And when he had fallen on the ground, he heard a voice saying to him: Saul, why do you persecute Me?

Then he said: Who are You, Lord? And the Lord said: I am Jesus whom you yourself are persecuting; hard to you to kick to stingers;

And trembling and astonished, he said: Lord, what do you desire me to do? And the Lord said to him: But rise up and enter into the city, and it will be told you what it behooves you to do.

And those men traveling with him had stood speechless, hearing indeed the voice, however seeing no one.

Then Saul rose up from the ground, however his eyes opened he was seeing no thing; and leading by the hand, they brought him to Damascus.

And he was three days without seeing, and neither did he eat nor drink.

Now there was a certain disciple in Damascus named Ananias, and the Lord said to him in a vision: Ananias. And he said: Behold me myself, Lord.

And the Lord said to him: Having risen up, go into the street which is being called Straight, and seek in the house of Judas Saul named, of Tarsus; for behold, he is praying,

And he saw in a vision a man named Ananias, having come and put on him the hands, so that he may see again.

But Ananias answered: Lord, I have heard from many concerning this man, how many evils he did to your holy ones in Jerusalem;

And here he has authority from the chief priests to bind all those who call on your name.

But the Lord said to him: Go, for this man is to Me a vessel of choice, to carry my name before the nations and also kings and the sons of Israel.

For I myself will show to him how much it behooves him to suffer for my name.

Then Ananias went away and entered into the house, and when he had laid the hands upon him, he said: Brother Saul, the Lord has sent me, Jesus the One who had appeared to you on the road by which you were coming, that you may see again and you may be filled of the Holy Spirit.

And immediately from his eyes fell as scales, and he regained his sight also immediately, and when he had risen up, he was immersed,

And when he had taken food, he strengthened. Now Saul was with the disciples in Damascus for some days;

And immediately in the synagogues he was proclaiming Jesus, that He is the Son of God.

Then all those hearing were amazed and were saying: Surely this is the one who caused havoc in Jerusalem on those calling on this name? And here for this he had come, that bound them he may bring to the chief priests.

But Saul all the more was empowered and was confounding the Jews dwelling in Damascus, proving that this is the Anointed One.

Now when many days were passed, the Jews plotted together to kill him;

But their plot became known to Saul. Now they were themselves watching also the gates by day and also night, so that they may kill him;

But when his disciples had taken him by night through the wall, they let him down, having lowered him in a basket.

Then Saul, having arrived in Jerusalem, was trying to join to the disciples; and all were afraid of him, not believing that he is a disciple.

But Barnabas, having taken him, brought him to the sent ones, and related to them how on the road he had seen the Lord and that He had spoken to him, and how in Damascus he had spoken boldly in the name of Jesus.

And he was with them, coming in and going out in Jerusalem, and speaking boldly in the name of the Lord Jesus,

He was speaking also and debating with the Hellenists; but they were seeking to kill him.

But the brothers, having known it, brought him down to Caesarea and sent him away to Tarsus.

Then the assembly indeed throughout all of Judea and Galilee and Samaria had peace, being edified and going on in the fear of the Lord, and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit it were multiplied.

Now it came to pass that Peter, passing through all quarters, descended also to the holy ones inhabiting Lydda.

Then he found there a certain man named Aeneas, for eight years lying on a bed, who was paralyzed.

And Peter said to him: Aeneas, Jesus the Anointed One heals you; rise up and make the bed for yourself. And immediately he rose up;

And all those inhabiting Lydda and Sharon saw him, who turned to the Lord.

Now in Joppa there was a certain disciple named Tabitha, which being translated is called Dorcas; she was full of good works and of alms that she was doing;

But it came to pass in those days that, having become sick, she to die; then having washed her, they put her in an upper room.

Now Lydda being near to Joppa, the disciples, having heard that Peter is in it, sent two men to him, imploring: Do not delay coming to us.

Then Peter, having risen up, went with them; who, having arrived, they brought him into the upper room, and all the widows stood by him weeping and showing the tunics and garments how much Dorcas was making, being with them.

Then when Peter had put all outside and had bowed the knees, he prayed; and when he had turned to the body, he said: Tabitha, arise. And she opened her eyes, and when she had seen Peter, she sat up.

Then when he had given to her his hand, he raised her up; then when he had called the holy ones and the widows, he presented her living.

Then it became known throughout all of Joppa, and many trusted on the Lord.

Then it came to pass that he stayed many days in Joppa with a certain Simon, a tanner.
