Acts11

Now the sent ones and the brothers, those being in Judea, heard that also the nations received the word of God.

And when Peter went up to Jerusalem, those of the circumcision were contending with him,

saying that You entered to men having uncircumcision and you ate with them.

Now when Peter had begun, he was explaining it to them in order, saying,

I was in the city of Joppa praying, and I saw in a trance a vision, a certain vessel descending like a great sheet, being let down by four corners out of the heaven, and it came down as far as me;

when I had looked intently on it, I was observing it and I saw the quadrupeds of the land and the wild beasts and the creeping things and the birds of the skies.

Then I heard also a voice saying to me, Having risen up, Peter, kill and eat.

However, I said, In no way, Lord; for every common or unclean thing never has entered into my mouth.

However, the voice answered to me for a second time out of the heaven, What God has cleansed, you yourself do not call unholy.

Now this happened on three times, and all was drawn up again into the heaven.

And behold, immediately three men stood at the house in which I was, sent from Caesarea to me.

Now the Spirit told me to go with them, not having discriminated. Now these six brothers went with me also, and we entered into the house of the man.

Then he related to us how he had seen the messenger in his house, having stood and said to him: Send forth men to Joppa and send for Simon who is called Peter,

who will speak words to you in which you yourself and all your household will be saved.

Then as I began to speak, the Holy Spirit fell upon them, even as also upon us in the beginning.

Then I remembered the word of the Lord, how He was saying: John indeed immersed with water, however you yourselves will be immersed with the Holy Spirit.

Then if God has given the same gift to them as also to us having believed on the Lord Jesus the Anointed One, how was I myself able to forbid God?

Then when they had heard these things, they were silent and glorified God, saying, Then indeed also to the nations God has given the change of heart unto life.

Therefore those indeed having been scattered by the tribulation having taken place over Stephen passed through until Phoenicia and Cyprus and Antioch, speaking the word to no one except solely to Jews.

However, some of their men were of Cyprus and of Cyrene, who, having come into Antioch, were speaking also to the Hellenists, bringing good news about the Lord Jesus.

And the hand of the Lord was with them, then a great number which, having believed, turned to the Lord;

now the report was heard in the ears of the assembly which is being in Jerusalem concerning them, and they sent forth Barnabas to go as far as Antioch;

who, having come and when he had seen the favor which is of God, rejoiced and was exhorting all with resolute purpose of heart to abide in the Lord;

for he was a good man and full of the Holy Spirit and of trust. And a large crowd was added to the Lord.

Then Barnabas went forth to Tarsus to seek Saul,

and when he had found him, he brought him to Antioch. Now it came to pass that they also, a whole year, gathering together in the assembly and teaching a large crowd, then the disciples were calling first in Antioch Christians.

Now in these days prophets came down from Jerusalem to Antioch;

now when one of their, named Agabus, had risen up, he signified through the Spirit that a great famine is to ensue, being over all the world — which also was in the time of Claudius of Caesar.

And the disciples, even as anyone was prospered, determined, their each, to send for ministry to the brothers dwelling in Judea;

which also they did, having sent it to the elders through the hand of Barnabas and Saul.
