2 Timothy2

1Therefore you yourself, my child, be strong in the favor that is in the Anointed One Jesus,

2and the things which you have heard from me among many witnesses, these entrust to faithful men, such as will be sufficient to teach others also.

3Therefore you yourself share in suffering as a good soldier of the Anointed One Jesus.

4No one serving as a soldier entangles himself in the affairs of this life, so that he may please the one who enlisted him.

5Now if anyone also shall compete, he is not crowned unless he shall compete lawfully.

6The hardworking farmer it is necessary first to partake of the fruits.

7Consider the thing I am saying; for the Lord will grant you understanding in all things.

8Remember Jesus the Anointed One, raised out from the dead, from the seed of David, according to my good news;

9in which I suffer hardship even to chains as an evildoer, but the word of God has not been bound!

10Because of this I endure all things for the sake of the chosen, so that they themselves also may obtain the salvation that is in the Anointed One Jesus with eternal glory.

11Trustworthy is the saying: for if we have died with Him, we will also live with Him;

12if we endure, we will also reign with Him; if we will deny Him, He also will deny us;

13if we are faithless, He remains faithful; for to deny Himself He is not able.

14Remind them of these things, solemnly charging them before God not to quarrel about words, to no profitable thing, but to the subversion of those who hear.

15Hasten to present yourself approved to God, a workman not ashamed, accurately handling the word of truth.

16But avoid worldly empty babblings; for they will lead on to more ungodliness,

17and their talk will have to grow like gangrene pasture; among whom are Hymenaeus and Philetus,

18who went astray concerning the truth, asserting the resurrection already to have taken place, and they are overthrowing the trust of some.

19Nevertheless the firm foundation of God has stood, having this seal: the Lord knows those being His, and everyone who is naming the name of the Lord should depart from iniquity.

20Now in a great house there are not only vessels golden and silver but also wooden and earthen, and some indeed unto honor, some however unto dishonor.

21Therefore if anyone shall cleanse himself from these, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified and useful to the Master, prepared for every good work.

22And flee youthful lusts, and pursue righteousness, trust, love, and peace, along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.

23And refuse foolish and ignorant speculations, knowing that they breed quarrels;

24now the bond-slave of the Lord, it behooves not to quarrel but to be gentle toward all, able to teach, forbearing,

25in gentleness disciplining those who oppose, otherwise God may give to them change of heart unto a knowledge of the truth,

26and they may recover out of the snare of the accuser, captured by him for his will.
