Now we implore you, brothers, by the coming of our Lord Jesus the Anointed One and our gathering together unto Him,
for you not to be soon shaken in the mind nor to be troubled, neither through spirit nor through word nor through letter as if through us, as that the day of the Lord has been present.
Let no one deceive you in not one way; for that only unless first shall have come the apostasy and shall have been revealed the man of lawlessness, the son of destruction,
who is opposing and exalting himself above every one named god or object of worship, so as for him to sit down in the temple of God as god, setting forth he himself that he is God.
Surely you do remember that, being yet with you, I was saying these things to you?
And now you know that which is restraining, for him to be revealed in his own appointed-time.
For the mystery of lawlessness is already working; only there is the one who restrains it at present, until he is gone out of the midst;
and then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will kill with the breath of his mouth and will annul by the appearing of his coming;
whose coming is according to the working of the adversary in every power and in signs and in wonders of falsehood,
and in every deceit of injustice among those who are perishing, in return for which they did not receive the love of the truth so that they might be saved;
and because of this God sends to them a powerful delusion, so that they trust what is false,
in order that all those not having believed the truth but having delighted in unrighteousness may be judged.
However, we ourselves ought to give thanks to God always concerning you, brothers beloved by the Lord, that God has chosen you from the beginning unto salvation in the sanctification of the Spirit and by trust of the truth,
to this also He called you through our good news, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus the Anointed One.
So then, brothers, stand firm and hold fast to the traditions that you were taught, whether through word or through letter from us.
Now Himself our Lord Jesus the Anointed One and God our Father, the One having loved us and having given us eternal comfort and good hope by favor,
would He encourage your hearts and would He strengthen you in every good work and word.
