Simon Peter, a slave and sent one of Jesus the Anointed One, to those who have obtained a trust equally precious with ours, through the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus the Anointed One:
Favor to you and wholeness would be multiplied in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord.
Accordingly, all things toward life and godliness have been given to us by his divine power, through the knowledge of the One who has called us by His own glory and excellence,
through which He has given to us the precious and magnificent promises, so that through these you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the decay that is in the world in desire.
And for this very reason now, having brought in all earnestness, supplement into your trust the virtue, and into the virtue the knowledge,
then into the knowledge the self-control, then into the self-control the endurance, then into the endurance the godliness,
and in godliness brotherly affection, and in brotherly affection love.
For these things being in you and abounding make you neither idle nor unfruitful as to the knowledge of our Lord Jesus the Anointed One.
For in whomever these things are not present, he is blind, short sighted, having received forgetfulness of the purification of his former sins.
Therefore rather, brothers, be diligent to make sure your calling and election; for practicing these things, you shall not stumble at any time.
For in this way the entrance into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus the Anointed One will be richly supplied to you.
Therefore I will be ready always to remind you concerning these things, though knowing them and strengthened in the truth being present in you.
Now I esteem it right, as long as I am in this tabernacle, to stir you up by putting you in remembrance;
knowing that the putting off of my tabernacle is imminent, even as also our Lord Jesus the Anointed One has made clear to me.
Now I will be diligent also to make at every time, after my departure, a lasting remembrance of these things for you.
For not when we had followed contrived fables did we make known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus the Anointed One, but having been eyewitnesses of His majesty.
For having received from God the Father honor and glory, a voice was brought to Him such as follows by the Majestic Glory: this is my beloved Son, in whom I myself found delight.
And this voice we ourselves heard brought from heaven, being with Him in the holy mountain.
And we have the prophetic word more certain, to which you do well taking heed, as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until this day has shone through and the morning star has arisen in your hearts;
knowing this first, that any prophecy of Scripture is not of its own interpretation.
For prophecy was not brought by the will of man at any time, but men spoke from God, being carried by the Holy Spirit.
