Now Elisha had spoken to the woman whose son he had restored to life, saying, "Rise and go, you and your household, and sojourn wherever you can sojourn, for Yahweh has called for famine, and it has also come to the land for seven years."
And the woman rose and did according to the word of the man of God, and she and her household went and sojourned in the land of the Philistines for seven years.
And at the end of seven years the woman returned from the land of the Philistines, and she went out to cry out to the king for her house and for her field.
And the king was speaking with Gehazi, the servant of the man of God, saying: Recount to me, please, all the great things that Elisha has done.
And it happened, as he was recounting to the king how he had brought the dead to life, that behold, the woman whose son he had brought to life was crying out for help to the king for her house and for her field. And Gehazi said: My lord the king, this is the woman, and this is her son, whom Elisha brought to life.
And the king asked the woman, and she recounted it to him. Then the king gave her one court official, saying: Give back all that was hers, and all the produce of the field from the day she left the land until now.
And Elisha came to Damascus, while Ben-hadad king of Aram was sick; and it was told to him, saying: The man of God has come as far as here.
And the king said to Hazael: Take a gift in your hand and go to meet the man of God, and inquire of Yahweh through him, saying: Will I live from this sickness?
And Hazael went to meet him, and took a gift in his hand, and every good thing of Damascus, the load of forty camels, and came and stood before him, and said: Your son Ben-hadad king of Aram has sent me to you, saying: Will I live from this sickness?
And Elisha said to him: Go, say to him, You will surely live; and Yahweh has shown me that he will surely die.
And he held his face steady, and set it, until he was ashamed; and the man of God wept.
And Hazael said: Why is my lord weeping? And he said: Because I know the evil that you will do to the sons of Israel: you will send their fortresses up in fire, you will kill their young men with the sword, you will dash their infants in pieces, and you will rip open their pregnant women.
And Hazael said: For what is your slave, the dog, that he should do this great word? And Elisha said: Yahweh has shown me you as king over Aram.
And he went from Elisha and came to his lord, who said to him: What did Elisha say to you? And he said: He said to me, You will surely live.
And it happened the next day that he took the coverlet and dipped it in water and spread it out over his face, and he died; and Hazael became king in his place.
In the fifth year of Joram son of Ahab king of Israel, while Jehoshaphat was king of Judah, Jehoram son of Jehoshaphat king of Judah became king.
He was thirty-two years old when he became king, and he reigned eight years in Jerusalem.
And he walked in the way of the kings of Israel, as the house of Ahab had done, for the daughter of Ahab became his wife; and he did evil in the eyes of Yahweh.
And Yahweh was not willing to ruin Judah, for the sake of David his slave, as he had said to him, to give him a lamp for his sons all the days.
In his days Edom rebelled from under the hand of Judah, and they made a king reign over themselves.
And Joram crossed over to Zair, and all the chariotry with him; and it happened that he rose by night and struck down Edom, who surrounded him, and the captains of the chariotry; and the people fled to their tents.
So Edom rebelled from under the hand of Judah to this day; then Libnah rebelled at that time.
And the rest of the word of Joram, and all that he did, are they not written in the scroll of the word of the days for the kings of Judah?
And Joram lay down with his fathers and was buried with his fathers in the city of David; and Ahaziah his son became king in his place.
In the twelfth year of Joram son of Ahab king of Israel, Ahaziah son of Jehoram king of Judah became king.
Ahaziah was twenty-two years old when he became king, and he reigned one year in Jerusalem; and the name of his mother was Athaliah, daughter of Omri king of Israel.
And he walked in the way of the house of Ahab and did evil in the eyes of Yahweh like the house of Ahab, for he was a son-in-law of the house of Ahab.
And he went with Joram son of Ahab to the battle against Hazael king of Aram at Ramoth-gilead; and the Arameans struck Joram.
And King Joram returned to be healed in Jezreel from the blows that the Arameans had struck him with at Ramah when he fought against Hazael king of Aram; and Ahaziah son of Jehoram king of Judah went down to see Joram son of Ahab in Jezreel, for he was sick.
