2 Corinthians1

1Paul, a sent one of the Anointed One Jesus through the will of God, and Timothy the brother, to the assembly of God which is in Corinth, with all the holy ones who are in all Achaia:

2Favor to you and wholeness from God our Father and the Lord Jesus the Anointed One.

3Blessed be God and Father of our Lord Jesus the Anointed One, the Father of compassions and God of all comfort,

4who comforts us in all our tribulation, so that we are able to comfort those in every tribulation through the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.

5Because even as the sufferings of the Anointed One abound toward us, so through the Anointed One our comfort also abounds.

6But if we are constricted, it is for your comfort and salvation; and if we are encouraged, it is for your comfort and salvation, which is operating in the endurance of the same sufferings that we ourselves also suffer.

7And our hope for you is steadfast, knowing that as you are partners of the sufferings, so also of the comfort.

8For we do not want you to be ignorant, brothers, as to our affliction that happened to us in Asia, that beyond our power we were excessively weighed down, so as to despair even of living;

9but we ourselves have the sentence of death in ourselves, so that we may not have trusted in ourselves but in God who raises the dead;

10who has delivered us from so great a death, and will deliver us, in whom we have hope that He will still deliver us also,

11you also joining together for us by supplication, so that by many persons the grace bestowed toward us through many may give thanks for us.

12For this is our boasting, the testimony of our conscience, that in openness and the sincerity of God, and not in fleshly wisdom but in the favor of God, we have conducted ourselves in the world, and more abundantly toward you.

13For we write no other things to you than what you read or even understand; and I hope that to the end you will understand,

14even as also you have understood us in part, that we are your boasting, even as also you are ours, in the day of our Lord Jesus.

15And with this confidence I was planning to come to you previously, so that you may have a second favor,

16and through you to pass through into Macedonia, and again from Macedonia to come to you, and by you to be set forward to Judea.

17Therefore, deciding this, surely I did not then use levity? Or what I purpose, do I purpose according to flesh, so that with me there may be the Yes, yes and the No, no?

18But God is faithful, that our word to you was not Yes and No.

19For the Son of God, Jesus the Anointed One, the One proclaimed among you through us, through me and Silvanus and Timothy, was not Yes and No, but in Him it has always been Yes;

20for as many promises of God as there are, in Him is the Yes; therefore also through Him is the Amen, to God for glory through us.

21Now it is God who establishes us with you unto the Anointed One and has anointed us,

22the One who also has sealed us and has given the pledge of the Spirit in our hearts.

23But I myself call upon God as witness against my being, that sparing you I have no longer come to Corinth;

24not that we lord it over your trust, but we are fellow workers of the joy with you; for in the trust you have stood firm.
