Now the queen of Sheba heard the report of Solomon, and she came to test Solomon with riddles in Jerusalem, with a very large force, and camels carrying spices and gold in abundance, and precious stones; and she came to Solomon and spoke with him of all that was in her heart.
Solomon told her all her words; and not a word was hidden from Solomon that he did not tell her.
And the queen of Sheba saw the wisdom of Solomon and the house that he had built,
and the food of his table, the seating of his servants, the standing of his attendants, and their clothes, and his cupbearers and their clothes, and his stairway by which he went up to the house of Yahweh; and there was no more breath in her.
And she said to the king, 'The word was true that I heard in my land about your words and about your wisdom.'
But I did not believe their words, until I came and my eyes saw; and look, not half of the greatness of your wisdom was told to me. You have added beyond the report that I heard.
How blessed are your men, and how blessed are these servants of yours, who stand before your face continually and hear your wisdom!
May Yahweh your God be blessed, who has delighted in you, to put you on his throne as king for Yahweh your God. Because your God loves Israel, to make it stand forever, he put you over them as king, to do justice and righteousness.
And she gave the king one hundred and twenty talents of gold, and spices in very great abundance, and precious stones. And there had never been any spice like that which the queen of Sheba gave to King Solomon.
And also the servants of Huram and the servants of Solomon, who brought gold from Ophir, brought sandalwood timber and precious stones.
And the king made the sandalwood timber into stairways for the house of Yahweh and for the house of the king, and lyres and harps for the singers; and the like of them had never been seen before in the land of Judah.
And King Solomon gave the queen of Sheba all her desire, whatever she asked for, besides what she had brought to the king. Then she turned and went to her land, she and her servants.
And the weight of the gold that came to Solomon in one year was six hundred and sixty-six talents of gold,
besides what the men who scout and those who travel about were bringing; and all the kings of Arabia and the governors of the land were bringing gold and silver to Solomon.
And King Solomon made two hundred large shields of beaten gold, six hundred of beaten gold he put up on each shield;
and three hundred shields of beaten gold, three hundred of gold he put up on each shield. And the king put them in the House of the Forest of Lebanon.
And the king made a great throne of ivory and overlaid it with pure gold.
There were six steps up to the throne, and a footstool of gold fastened to the throne, with hands on this side and on that at the place of the seat; and two lions stood beside the hands.
Twelve lions stood there on the six steps, on this side and on that; it had not been made so for any kingdom.
And all the vessels for King Solomon's drinking were gold, and all the vessels of the House of the Forest of Lebanon were gold sealed tight; silver was not reckoned for anything in the days of Solomon.
For the king's ships were going to Tarshish with the servants of Huram; once every three years the ships of Tarshish would come, carrying gold and silver, ivory, monkeys and peacocks.
King Solomon became great above all the kings of the land in wealth and wisdom.
And all the kings of the land were seeking the face of Solomon, to hear his wisdom, which God had put in his heart.
And they were bringing, each one, his gift: vessels of silver and vessels of gold, garments, weapons and spices, horses and mules, the word of each year, year by year.
And Solomon had four thousand stalls for horses and chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen, and he settled them in the cities of the chariotry and with the king in Jerusalem.
And he was ruling over all the kings, from the River even to the land of the Philistines and to the boundary of Egypt.
And the king set the silver in Jerusalem like stones, and the cedars he set like the sycamores that are in the Shephelah, in abundance.
And horses were being brought out from Egypt for Solomon, and from all the lands.
And the rest of the words of Solomon, the first and the last, are they not written in the words of Nathan the prophet, and in the prophecy of Ahijah the Shilonite, and in the visions of Iddo the seer, concerning Jeroboam son of Nebat?
And Solomon reigned in Jerusalem over all Israel forty years.
And Solomon lay down with his fathers, and they buried him in the city of David his father; and Rehoboam his son reigned in his place.
