2 Chronicles5

1And all the work that Solomon had made for the house of Yahweh was completed; and Solomon brought in the holy things of David his father, and the silver and the gold and all the utensils, and put them in the treasuries of the house of God.

2Then Solomon assembled the elders of Israel and all the heads of the tribes, the princes of the fathers of the children of Israel, to Jerusalem, to bring up the ark of the covenant of Yahweh from the city of David — it is Zion.

3All the men of Israel assembled to the king at the festival, which was the seventh month.

4All the elders of Israel came, and the Levites lifted up the ark.

5They brought up the ark, and the tent of meeting, and all the holy utensils that were in the tent; the priests, the Levites, brought them up.

6And King Solomon and all the congregation of Israel, who were gathered to him before the ark, were sacrificing flock and cattle that could not be counted, and could not be numbered for multitude.

7The priests brought the ark of the covenant of Yahweh to its place, to the innermost room of the house, to the most holy place, under the wings of the cherubim.

8The cherubim were spreading out wings over the place of the ark, and the cherubim covered over the ark and over its poles from above.

9The poles grew long, and the heads of the poles were seen from the ark in front of the innermost room; but they could not be seen outside; and they were there until this day.

10There was nothing in the ark except the two tablets that Moses put at Horeb, where Yahweh cut a covenant with the children of Israel when they came out of Egypt.

11It happened when the priests came out of the holy place — for all the priests who were found had set themselves apart, there was no keeping to divisions —

12and the Levites, the singers, all of them, of Asaph, of Heman, of Jeduthun, and of their sons and their brothers, clothed in fine linen, with cymbals and harps and lyres, were standing east of the altar; and with them a hundred and twenty priests, sounding trumpets;

13It happened, when the trumpeters and the singers, as one, made heard one voice to praise and to give thanks to Yahweh, and when they lifted high a voice with trumpets and cymbals and with instruments of song, and praised Yahweh: for he is good, for his loyal love is forever — the house, the house of Yahweh, was full of a cloud;

14and the priests could not stand to serve because of the cloud, for the weightiness of Yahweh filled the house of God.
